Rated 4 out of 5 by Posey from Do something about the huge labels.... I almost did not buy these because of the poor reviews. However for the price I could not find anything better. I bought the white and then the gray. They wash well and are not too wrinkly, even without ironing. BUT, the care label is way too big and it is a painstaking job to cut it out without also cutting into the napkin.Date published: 2017-12-24Rated 1 out of 5 by DZHom from Quality Has Gone WAY Downhill I purchased these napkins a year ago, and had them monogrammed with a three letter monogram. When I went to do it this year, despite it offering a 3 letter monogram option online (and the SAME napkin with the border shows a 3 letter monogram), it only let me enter one letter. I tried to contact customer service immediately after I placed the order, figuring it was an online glitch - it took over 5 emails and 3 calls for someone to get back to me a WEEK later. I even tried the dedicated trade line, left a message, and no one called me back. At this point, the order was already on its way, so I couldn't cancel it. I'm now stuck with 12 napkins that have my full monogram, and 6 that only have one letter. When I finally spoke to someone, I was told that they don't and never did three letters on the napkins (again - it SHOWS it online, AND I have them!). Upon receiving the napkins, the quality is way inferior to the same exact product I ordered last year, and there are ring stains on the napkins from the circulate plate of the mongram! I'm an interior designer, and order from all the WS brands often, and cannot even fathom how both their products and customer service have gone downhill. Next time, I will be shopping somewhere with better quality linens and attentive customer service!Date published: 2017-11-17Rated 1 out of 5 by Buben from Cheap looking, shiny, and wrinkled ... Really wish I hadn’t ordered these. Because they are described as cotton, I thought these napkins would be something different than what they are. The material is very shiny (think cheap polyester) and they arrived completely wrinkled looking. I’m returning these — what a hassle!Date published: 2017-11-10Rated 3 out of 5 by creidsd from Not the same quality as previous product I just purchased these napkins in a set of 12. They arrived with only 11 in the package, so customer service sent out a replacement set, but I still had to return one of the sets I received during the busy Christmas season. I own 24 of these napkins purchased several years back and have used them repeatedly over the years for family dinners. The new version requires ironing the napkins, which is a big pain. The old napkins could be washed and dried without needing to be ironed. Please bring back the old napkins!Date published: 2016-12-28Rated 1 out of 5 by TPerkins from Disappointing in so many ways 1. The Ivory Hotel Dinner Napkin in Ivory is an entirely different color than the Hotel Tablecloth in Ivory. NOTHING in the description tells you that. 2. After washing, square is a vague suggestion. I spent a lot of time last night trying to press these back into square. 3. Fewer than half of the 30 napkins I purchased had the thread from monogramming snipped. 4. The monogramming is not on a consistent corner of the napkins. On most, it's on the corner opposite the tag, but on a couple, it's on the same edge of the napkin as the tag, making it difficult to fold without a tag sticking out. These aren't the most expensive napkins at Williams Sonoma, but I bought here because I expected reasonable quality. I could have purchased elsewhere cheaper if I knew this is what I'd be receiving. I'll use them for Thanksgiving this year, but they're likely going into the bin.Date published: 2016-11-22Rated 1 out of 5 by MJB22 from Very low quality & thin This is a very disappointing purchase. I washed the napkins and dried them on low and they shrunk up to awkward shapes that don't even remotely resemble squares/rectangles. They are now impossible to fold. They are thin with the cheapest finishing. I do not recommend these at all.Date published: 2016-11-17Rated 5 out of 5 by MidwestClassic from Gorgeous Red I have these in white and ivory for everyday use. I recently bought the red on a whim and it is spectacular -- a nice deep, blued red. I'll use these for Christmas, Valentine's Day, and July 4th. Just beautiful.Date published: 2016-11-01Rated 3 out of 5 by pnbroening from inconsistent quality I have been buying these napkins every few years for well over 15 years. The older napkins wear better than the new ones. Older ones have one label, new ones have two labels, so it's easy to tell when I have an older one vs a new one. The new ones tend to fray or develop holes. Perhaps they moved to another vendor whose materials were inferior. I have accumulated napkins to cycle through them thus: The napkins are used, washed, and ironed about once every 2-3 weeks. The older ones were used more frequently. Given WS's high standards, I expect the next time I need more, they'll be back to normal and I will recommend them again.Date published: 2015-05-23
