Use & Care

Use

  • Ideal for use on any type of cooktop, including induction.
  • Oven and broiler safe.
  • To season after each use, clean the pan, and apply a thin layer of vegetable oil on the inside and outside surfaces while still warm.
  • Handles can become very hot. Always use pot holders or gloves when handling.

Care

  • Hand-wash with hot water and a stiff nylon brush; do not use soap or harsh detergents.
  • Dry thoroughly and season with vegetable oil.
  • Store in a dry location.

Next Day Delivery

For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. This service is not available for some oversize items, items shipped directly from the supplier (including perishable and custom-manufactured items), out-of-stock items and items to be shipped outside the contiguous 48 states.

Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

Return Policy

At Williams Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.

If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

We cannot accept returns on monogrammed, personalized, special-order items, custom upholstery, food, items shipped direct from the vendor or on items damaged through normal wear and tear. Final sale items ending in .97 or .99 cannot be returned.

I fried steak in it immediately and can’t wait to make sautéed shrimp, bake biscuits and who knows what else! The ear type handles are attractive and so practical. It makes it perfect for serving and so much easier to store. The 10 1/2 inch is a perfect size for my husband and I. Yes, cast iron is heavy....saves a trip to the gym.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Hard to Beat Favorite Skillet! After going through the pans and pots and downsizing my too large collection, I did the unthinkable and bought the 10 1/2” skillet. Cast-iron cooks like a dream and can be used on any type of heat surface. Pan fried dumplings? Yes! Berry cobbler? Yes! Pan-seared steak? A very big Yes! Proper clean-up is fairly simple and will keep the preseasoned (courtesy of Lodge) finish as good as new. I enjoy cooking with skillet so much that I ended up buying the 12” size for larger family gatherings. The dual handles make it easy to lift the skillet which some may find a bit heavy. The 12” skillet actually weighs about 5 lbs less than the same size in another much more expensive brand. I actually own and kept 2 pieces from the other brand and find myself using the Lodge skillets instead. Very happy with this purchase.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this pan I got this as a gift and used it for the first time yesterday, and I'm completely stunned with how amazing my ribeye steaks came out. Using this skillet resulted in the most flavorful and beautiful sear on my meat. The inside of the steaks were also cooked to perfection, but the flavor of the sear this pan gave was enough for me. Now, granted, I'm a brand new user, so I can't speak to longevity, but I think Lodge's reputation can speak to that. Also, I made sure I followed the use and care instructions provided here on the Williams Sonoma site. The hot water scrub and reasonsoning with light layer of oil when I was done really wasn't that big of a deal. A lot of people complain about the maintenance of cast iron pans, but it took six mins max. Small price to pay for amazing steaks in my opinion.

Excellent for frying, making casseroles, rolls, biscuits and even chocolate cake (using the skillet to mix, bake, frost and even serve all in a single pan. Love the two handles as it makes it both easier to store and easier to lift. Just a GREAT all around pan!

  • can this go into a hot pizza oven that can reach 700 to 900 degrees?

    Hi Azzie, Yes, that should be fine. Please note that heating a seasoned cast-iron pan to above 800-900 °F will probably burn off the seasoning. Iron will start melting at 2200 °F.
