Since opening in 2013, Le Marais Bakery in San Francisco has wowed customers with authentic French croissants that transport them to Paris with every flaky, buttery bite. This special pastry selection includes seasonal flavors available only in limited quantities. The delicious sampling arrives frozen and ready to bake at home, whenever you'd like, and makes a wonderful spread for breakfast or brunch.

  • 2 lb. 8 oz. total.
  • To prepare, let frozen pastries thaw for 8 hours, brush with egg wash and bake (see Use & Care for preparation details on each).

Le Marais Assorted Fall Pastry Sampler includes 2 each of:

  • Au Beurre Croissants: Classic French croissants handmade with buttery, 12-layer dough that bakes to a flaky, golden finish with a silky-soft interior.
  • Chocolate Croissants: Rolled pain au chocolate filled with two batons of dark Valrhona chocolate from France.
  • Coffee: Swirled pastry with golden, light croissant dough filled with a rich, sweet glaze of confectioner's sugar, buttermilk and finely ground coffee.
  • Truffle Croissants: Savory croissants richly layered with mascarpone cheese, porcini mushrooms and truffle oil.
  • Pomme Chausson: Golden triangle-shaped pastry filled with an apple cinnamon filling that offers notes of browned butter.
  • Pumpkin Kouign Amann: Breton "butter cakes" of handmade puff-pastry dough with a sweet, creamy organic pumpkin filling and a crisp caramelized-sugar coating.

 

Use & Care

Receiving Instructions

  • The pastries are shipped frozen with dry ice, which may have evaporated during shipment. This is normal. Please take care not to touch any remaining dry ice with bare hands.
  • Upon receipt, immediately store the pastries in the freezer, where they will keep up to 3 months.

Preparation

Au Beurre Croissants:

  • Place pastries three inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let rest at room temperature for eight hours to thaw and rise.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Whisk an egg and lightly brush over entire top surface of each pastry.
  • Bake for 17 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let croissants cool and serve warm or at room temperature.

Chocolate Croissants:

  • Place pastries three inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let rest at room temperature for 8 hours to thaw and rise.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Whisk an egg and lightly brush over entire top surface of each pastry.
  • Bake 20 to 22 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool and serve warm or at room temperature.

Coffee Croissants:

  • Place pastries three inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in refrigerator overnight to thaw and rise.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, rotating the baking sheet after 10 minutes.
  • Let cool and serve warm or at room temperature.

Truffle Croissants:

  • Place croissants on parchment-lined baking sheet and thaw on counter for 8 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Make egg wash by stirring 1 egg with 1 tsp. water. Lightly brush egg wash over croissants.
  • Bake for 22–27 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Let cool and serve warm or at room temperature.

Pomme Chausson:

  • Place pastries three inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in refrigerator overnight to thaw and rise.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Bake 18 minutes until golden brown, rotating the baking sheet after 9 minutes.
  • Let cool and serve warm or at room temperature.

Pumpkin Kouign Amann:

  • Place kouign amann in buttered cups of standard muffin pan and defrost in the refrigerator overnight. Gently push into cups before baking
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Mix one egg with one teaspoon of water and lightly brush egg wash over pastries.
  • Place muffin pan on a rimmed baking sheet in case of overflow.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Let cool and serve warm or at room temperature.

NOTE: You can also rise and bake each of the pastries individually.

  • Truffle Croissants: All-purpose flour, butter, starter, high-gluten flour, milk, sugar, salt, yeast (osmo), malt. Filling: Truffle puree, mascarpone cheese, porcini mushrooms, sea salt truffle, truffle oil.
  • Pomme Chausson: Apple, brown butter, sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt.
  • Pumpkin Kouign Amann: All-purpose flour, butter, starter, high-gluten flour, milk, sugar, salt, yeast, malt. Buttercream: Sugar, butter, cream, vanilla. Pumpkin Filling: Organic pumpkin, cream, sugar, egg.

Please allow 2-7 business days for processing and delivery. This gives our artisan partners time to prepare your order with exceptional care and attention to detail. A more accurate delivery date will be quoted on the payment page. Perishable food items are not eligible for rush shipping. Please not that we do not ship perishable food items outside the contiguous 48 states or to P.O. Boxes.

Next Day Delivery

For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. This service is not available for some oversize items, items shipped directly from the supplier (including perishable and custom-manufactured items), out-of-stock items and items to be shipped outside the contiguous 48 states.

Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

Return Policy

At Williams Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.

If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

We cannot accept returns on monogrammed, personalized, special-order items, custom upholstery, food, items shipped direct from the vendor or on items damaged through normal wear and tear. Final sale items ending in .97 or .99 cannot be returned.

Made to Order and Final Sale Furniture items are non-returnable and cannot be cancelled once the order is placed.
