Rated 1 out of 5 by Deborah from Rust = leak We've had this kettle for a while (a few years, around 4 or 5) and as many others have said, it rusts. Guess what? It rusted a whole through the bottom. We didn't even know or think to look. Because it's a kettle. It never occurred to me that a tea kettle made to hold water would rust. Way before that happened, the lid started to be impossible to get off. It took Herculean strength to get it off. Prior to this, we had one and the plastic handle melted. It was not bent down near the flame, either.Date published: 2019-09-14Rated 2 out of 5 by Edmonds mom from Agree with several others I've had this kettle less than three years; recently I was surprised to see rust inside. This is very disturbing and something that no other tea kettle that I've owned had. I paid around $100 for it and expected a quality item. Now I have to wipe the inside after use. Really, the only thing I like about this kettle is its red color!Date published: 2019-07-11Rated 1 out of 5 by BarbV from Very Disappointed I have had this Le Creuset tea kettle for 3 years and really felt it would last forever, but it has rusted inside and chipped outside. I noticed the rust in the pouring spout this morning when the light allowed me to see up there. Using vinegar did not clean it up. There is also a pit in the bottom of the kettle so it is going in the garbage. Just expected a better product from this brand.Date published: 2019-02-18Rated 1 out of 5 by Sue Walker from TERRIBLE DESIGN especially for the price. I received this tea kettle as a gift from my husband, so I am stuck with it. He purchased it because William Sonoma is usually top notch product and he knew I was looking for a specific blue color. The handle heats up every time so yo have to use a hot pad, it dribbles all over the counter every time you pour hot water, and the whistle only works about half of the time. The other problem is that the lid is extremely difficult to remove to refill, so I generally end up filling it back through the pour spout. YIKES and DO NOT PURCHASEDate published: 2018-03-03Rated 1 out of 5 by Clare214 from Disappointed. Mine rusted on the inside, too. I only bought it last year.Date published: 2017-12-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Heartbroken from CAREFUL ABOUT CLEANING!! I have had this for 6 years and just love it. It had some dark stains on the outside I was trying to get off. I was going to buy the enamel cleaner but the associate a WS recommended BarKeepers friend instead. I'm must have scrubbed too hard because it took the stains off but it took the finish off of the enamel too. Needless to say I am devastated.Date published: 2017-07-10Rated 1 out of 5 by SMR1 from Worst tea kettle I have owned My daughter bought this for me as a gift. I love the color & style. Aside from looks, this is the WORST tea kettle that I have owned. Because it drips every time I pour from it. Not just a drop or two, it's a puddle on the counter top. I have to move from the stove to the sink so it doesn't make a mess. I was told at the store that I need the receipt in order to exchange, but it was a gift a few years ago, so no luck there.Date published: 2017-05-11Rated 1 out of 5 by Lauren2Z from Melted nozzle I was so excited to purchase this teapot, but after just 4 months of using it, the nozzle on the teapot is melting and misshapen. It's very disappointing. I would not recommend this teapot.Date published: 2016-10-12
