- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sue Walker from TERRIBLE DESIGN especially for the price. I received this tea kettle as a gift from my husband, so I am stuck with it. He purchased it because William Sonoma is usually top notch product and he knew I was looking for a specific blue color. The handle heats up every time so yo have to use a hot pad, it dribbles all over the counter every time you pour hot water, and the whistle only works about half of the time. The other problem is that the lid is extremely difficult to remove to refill, so I generally end up filling it back through the pour spout. YIKES and DO NOT PURCHASEDate published: 2018-03-03Rated 1 out of 5 by Clare214 from Disappointed. Mine rusted on the inside, too. I only bought it last year.Date published: 2017-12-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Heartbroken from CAREFUL ABOUT CLEANING!! I have had this for 6 years and just love it. It had some dark stains on the outside I was trying to get off. I was going to buy the enamel cleaner but the associate a WS recommended BarKeepers friend instead. I'm must have scrubbed too hard because it took the stains off but it took the finish off of the enamel too. Needless to say I am devastated.Date published: 2017-07-10Rated 1 out of 5 by SMR1 from Worst tea kettle I have owned My daughter bought this for me as a gift. I love the color & style. Aside from looks, this is the WORST tea kettle that I have owned. Because it drips every time I pour from it. Not just a drop or two, it's a puddle on the counter top. I have to move from the stove to the sink so it doesn't make a mess. I was told at the store that I need the receipt in order to exchange, but it was a gift a few years ago, so no luck there.Date published: 2017-05-11Rated 1 out of 5 by Lauren2Z from Melted nozzle I was so excited to purchase this teapot, but after just 4 months of using it, the nozzle on the teapot is melting and misshapen. It's very disappointing. I would not recommend this teapot.Date published: 2016-10-12Rated 5 out of 5 by JustJayneAgain from Best Teakettle I have had this teakettle for over 7 years and it is great. Attractive in the red and heats evenly. It has held up very well. The one just purchased is for an gift to an avid tea drinker.Date published: 2016-09-19Rated 1 out of 5 by Laurienda from paint coming off inside I love the Le Creuset products made in France. This isn't made in France. I've had it for about two years. Mine isn't rusting, but when I touched a dishcloth to the inside, the paint came off onto the cloth! A dark color. The boiled water was coming out clear and I always empty the kettle of water after each use. I wonder what has been brewing in my tea? Nothing good. Very upsetting.Date published: 2016-08-09Rated 2 out of 5 by Dahleen from The inside rusts I have had this teapot for several years but I have not used it for 3 years because one day I noticed there was rust inside. I scrubbed it but it did not help. The outside is still beautiful but I don't boil water on the outside. It is now just decoration and I use my All Clad stainless steel kettle for boiling. This pot is too expensive for decoration.Date published: 2016-06-23
