- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Witch from east from Perfect size, weight and shape!! I purchased this Soup Pot in Matte White on sale. I LOVE THIS POT!!!! It is perfect size for everyday use. And it is so versatile. I make vegetable soup to have everyday. This Soup Pot has capacity to last the soup for several days, and ladle be able to reach to bottom of soup is super plus. It is great for One Pot meal, too. Can not wait to make bread in it. I love the bigger size handle for stability when I carry the pot. The weight of pot is much lighter than expected. Matte finish is so pretty and very functional, specially when I hand wash the pot. The matte is hard to slip out in soapy water:) I know I will use this pot every single day for long time to come.Date published: 2019-02-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Customer2015 from My go to pot for different dishes I bought one in quince on sale. Love love love my pot. It is so versatile and I use it for almost everything. I love Le Creuset cookware. You cannot go wrong with it.Date published: 2016-02-19Rated 5 out of 5 by lizatee from Excellent Pot Great for slow simmers, risottos... I especially like the curved form of this chef's oven.Date published: 2016-01-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Selfrisin55 from The perfect pot Perfect size, shape and weight. This has added to my collection Le Creuset and I use it often. One great pot!Date published: 2015-01-18Rated 5 out of 5 by TeeLK from I love this pot I bought it in quince and find it to be very beautiful. It is sitting on my stove, where I can look at it. I have used it to make soup, and of course, it was perfect for that. I am taking very good, loving care of this pot — but I will say, in all honesty. that Le Creuset cast iron pots are fragile. You have to be completely careful not to use metal implements with them and to clean them carefully after each use or they will discolor to the point where they can't be cleaned. Nevertheless, this pot makes me happy.Date published: 2015-01-08Rated 5 out of 5 by enigmachef from Le Creuset continues to beat expectations! I took a shot with this pot (in ocean, VERY beautiful color!)...I have to say I LOVE it! It is so beautiful it stays on my counter all the time! I love the curved bottom when I'm sautéing, it makes it so easy and things just don't want to stick to it! The best part is the size, it is a perfect size for a small family's normal cooking, big enough to mix pasta in with sauces etc. (ex. 1lb meat, one package spaghetti and 1 jar sauce fit easily) and small enough to not be burdensome. This pot has performed gorgeously for making ragouts, layered lasagna and even roasting a full chicken (plenty of room, though I didn't try with the lid on). It cleans up so well, my hubby says it cleans better than any other pot he's ever tried to clean! I replaced the plastic knob immediately with the stainless version for aesthetics but have had no problem with it in the oven. I cannot wait to use it for bread! Also it's surprisingly light considering its size.Date published: 2014-08-14Rated 5 out of 5 by HappiestCook from Great value, great pot I bought this pot with 20%discount price, very pleased with how well it cooks, the curved side is really good for mixing and stirring, and I think this is the main advantage of this pot compare to the regular shaped french oven. I cook for two, the size is perfect, I can get some left over for lunch for the following day. Also fits into the sink nicely, easy for washing. I love white, very rare color, I think it will look better with time as it develops "character" . This one pot replace two of my other le creuset pots, it is my go-to pot for almost everything thing, I highly recommend this product.Date published: 2014-06-28Rated 5 out of 5 by lovingit from LOVE Le Creuset Cast-Iron in White Beautiful, easy to clean.
