- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company's classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ESquared from True Heirloom Quality Bought this to replace a large, but cracked, stoneware baker/lasagne pan/roaster that we purchased from "another" kitchen specialty store. This is one of those "lifetime" products that will be passed down to the kids long after we're gone. It's big, it's beastly heavy, and it's pricey, but that's what you want in a multi-purpose roaster/baker like this. Bite the bullet and buy it - you won't regret it.Date published: 2016-02-12Rated 5 out of 5 by ApacheHeart from The Best Roaster on the Planet I use this roaster for turkey, chicken, beef, racks of lamb or pork, or just to roast vegetables in the oven. It is my favorite by far. I also own an All-Clad stainless roaster and I much prefer the Le Crueset. As an added bonus it is lighter than you would expect for being enameled cast iron, and it is a breeze to clean. I use this roaster in combination with my convection oven to make the ultimate Prime Rib roast for Christmas. No other roaster (working in concert with the convection action of the oven) will give you that fantastic garlicky outer crust of the roast and yet give you a wonderful medium-rare inside. Better than that famous restaurant in LA and Las Vegas famous for Prime Rib and their proprietary seasoned salt. If you have room for only one roaster get this one, all the others are second-place finishers.Date published: 2015-11-01Rated 5 out of 5 by PalmSpringsBaker from Le Creuset Signature Rectangular Roaster Perfect Roaster For Roasting Meat, Poultry and Casseroles! My signature holiday stuffing never came out better. Moist on the inside and crisp on the sides and top. Perfection! Heat is evenly distributed throughout this roaster. I purchased the larger version in red and I could not be more pleased. Clean up is a breeze! Treat yourself this year! Happy Holidays!Date published: 2013-11-22Rated 5 out of 5 by Meesa from Great for everything! I am irrationally excited about this roaster. It's a rare rectangular pan that can go from stovetop to oven...great for casseroles, roasting vegetables, even soup. My new favorite kitchen tool.Date published: 2012-12-12
