- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rob on the pan from Great pan... We love the pan but we cannot determine IF we are cleaning the pan correctly ? After we clean it there still is some residue on various places on the pan.Date published: 2018-06-16Rated 2 out of 5 by LitaRosi from Useful frying pan but the handle broke off This pan is very useful for frying chicken, pork chops, etc., but recently it was dropped onto a brick floor and the handle broke off. I went to the Wms Sonoma store where I bought it as a gift, showed them a photo of the pan, and all they said was to contact Le Creuset for "next steps". I called, they said they would email me instructions for where to send the pan, but they didn't. The Le Creuset representative I spoke with said that "this does happen". Not acceptable, in my opinion, for a frying pan handle to break off, even if it is accidentally dropped. I considered another one, but instead I think a plain cast iron pan, like the brand "Lodge", will be better.Date published: 2017-04-25Rated 5 out of 5 by wandaisboss from Cast-Iron Fry Pan by Le Creuset I have been searching for some quality pans and decided to give Le Creuset a try. Although it's a little pricey, this pan is well worth the investment. It heats evenly and cooks thoroughly. You can take it from the cooktop and put it in the oven to finish various meats. I put the weight as a "Con" as the pan is definitely heavier than any of my other pans. However, that is not a deterrent for me. It is easy to clean and the red looks so pretty sitting on my cooktop. I will definitely be purchasing other pans by Le Creuset.Date published: 2016-08-13Rated 1 out of 5 by Celestekrenz from everything sticks - it's the worst pan ever I bought a set of two. both are terrible. I have to soak overnight, boil water in them to get the egg whites out. I have treated them gently, oiled them and they are still really bad. I love my big bakers with the white enamel but the frying pans are worthless.Date published: 2015-07-02Rated 1 out of 5 by CookingInChicago from Over a year and I hate this pan I am very disappointed in this pan - - everything, and I mean everything sticks, except things like thick steaks, etc. I have followed the care instructions to a 'T' but it has been an issue since day one.Date published: 2015-03-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Heart2Cook from My new BFF! Best frypan forever! This pan quickly became the workhorse of my kitchen. A typical day for this pan is pancakes for breakfast, heating leftovers for lunch, and grilling a steak and onions for dinner. I've owned the pan now for a few months and the cooking surface still looks brand new. And remains nonstick. That's because I've followed the care instructions that came with the pan - heat not too high, and soak with soapy water immediately after use. I plan to have this pan forever!Date published: 2014-12-28Rated 2 out of 5 by JulsM from Switched back to my Calphalon Frying Pan I love 99% of my Ocean Le Creuset cookware & bakeware we received using the W&S wedding registry. This is the one item I do not like. It cooks fine but is extremely difficult to clean. I'm still researching online how to clean this properly as I do not want to damage it. We ended up going back to our Calphalon frying pan for the time being. I recommend saving your money & buying the Signature Cast-Iron Deep Sauté Pan which is amazing - we use it for everything & it cleans easily.Date published: 2014-11-26Rated 2 out of 5 by dshackel from very disappointed - always sticks I have had this pan for almost a year and have yet to successfully fry anything in it without sticking. i have tried adding oil to it cold and bringing up to heat together, preheating and then adding oil, low heat and high heat. makes no difference, everying sticks to the surface. Words cannot describe how disappointed I am, this was my first piece of Le Creuset and very expensive (at least to me). So I will not buy any more of their items. i am only giving it two stars because at least it is easy to clean the stuck on food off the pan.Date published: 2013-09-01
