- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Greenidqr from so disappointed -_- I was so excited to get this, totally love the pink! thought by this being le creuset food wouldn't stick, it's just as bad as the plain ol black cast iron griddle I have. worked great cooking the hot dogs, the pork steaks - forget it. wish I had read the reviews, I will be returning it.Date published: 2018-03-27Rated 1 out of 5 by BCRS from Not worth it I usually love Le Creuset, but this grill is just not worth the price tag. I don’t see any improvement on cooking on this vs any other grill. And to clean this is a huge hassle, just like any other cast iron grill. It is no better (at all!) than my IKEA cast iron grill or the one that came with the stove.Date published: 2018-03-21Rated 4 out of 5 by ChefMay from You can blame your stove or... You can blame your stove or you can blame the Skinny Grill pan for not being compatible for each other. Upon purchasing this pan, I knew that heat would not evenly distribute across the entire surface. So, I avoid cooking on either edges as they tend to be cooler. I cook in small portions, it does eat up time. But, put too much on the pan and your food will not cook to the perfect temperature. I like to use this pan for vegetables and searing meat. For veges., it is nice that you can “render” out excess water that can make veges soggy. For searing meat, it is good for getting gorgeous grill marks and also helps the meat stay moist and juicy. This pan gets hot fast, even at medium high fire the pan can increase in temperature so watch your fire...lower it when you see the pan getting too smokey and then return back to medium high setting. As far as cleaning goes, I haven’t had a problem. I always let it cool and wash it right away. I like to lightly spray it with oil after washing/drying. Surprisingly, the bottom hasn’t gotten any scratches or stains (from heat). I think I’ve been very careful with all of my Le Creuset pieces, as I’m pretty obsessed with its looks. I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if anything terrible happened to any of my precious Le Creuset! Haha! So, I wouldn’t really recommend any highly priced, enamel coated cookware to anyone who isn’t willing to truly give TLC to it. It really is a commitment to take care of these pieces. Other than that, just stick to good old Lodge cast iron cookware. But even with that brand, one would still need to give it some care. Honestly, I only bought this pan because I wanted more pink Le Creuset cast iron to grow my collection! Haha! Still, it does put out beautiful dinners!Date published: 2018-03-12Rated 4 out of 5 by Mom23 from Like new with a cleaning tip I bought this for my daughter to use in her apartment a year ago. The size and weight are perfect. She uses it several times a week for chicken and vegetables. I have numerous Le Creuset for years and clean outside and in with Barkeepers cooktop liquid cleaner. Be sure to use the cooktop cleanser and may need to allow cleanser to sit awhile before scrubbing with a nonabrasive pad. Works very well. All my pieces and my daughter’s skinny grill look brand new. Mine aren’t matte and the skinny grill is red, so I’m not sure if matte colors are harder to clean.Date published: 2018-01-12Rated 2 out of 5 by Julie from Just can't give the third star. Pretty disappointed in this grill. I wanted to splurge and get a nice brand since it was for our wedding registry so I put this one on there in Matte White. BAD IDEA. I thought not only would this be super useful to grill but look it is so pretty!! It was no longer pretty after the first use. It is completely brown and stained. I actually hide it when people come over because it is embarrassing. We do use it a lot and think it is great despite being annoying to clean. However, don't waste your money and get a black cheaper version that will literally do the exact same this one does but for less!Date published: 2018-01-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Thriftie from I LOVE MY SKINNY GRILL! I got this skinny grill as a gift. I was a little apprehensive in deciding on it because some of the reviews really scared me and made me not want to get it. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the bad reviews because this grill so far has been outstanding. It's super easy to clean and super easy to use. It fits really well on just one large burner on my (electric) stove. I love my skinny grill. You will too.Date published: 2018-01-02Rated 1 out of 5 by sjwallo from Doesn't last Worked great the first 1 or 2 times, than the non stick coating started to peel off. Now it's completely unusable. For the price you pay and the name I would have expected better durability and quality.Date published: 2017-12-14Rated 3 out of 5 by OCGuy from Doesn't heat evenly, due to pan shape vs. burner I've owned this pan for several years. Like any cast iron piece, I turn the heat (gas burner) on medium-low and then slowly ramp it up to medium or medium-high as needed. Pan comes perfectly clean when soaked in hot sudsy water. I apply a bit of olive oil (spray, or paper towel) before use--or early in the heating stage-- and never have sticking problems. That said, the rectangular design is an issue: when used on a round gas or electric burner, the center 40% of the pan heats up nicely, but not the ends of the pan. Perhaps it behaves differently on an induction cook top, but my cook top is gas.You can cook maybe two pieces of meat in the center, but you can't use the full surface of the pan--even though at first glance it appears to suffice for 3-4 persons--because the ends don't reach the same cooking temperatures. If cooking meat in the center, you can cook veggies on the ends, assuming they need less heat, but you can't fill this pan end to end with meat and expect all pieces to cook evenly. The larger (and twice as costly) double burner grill probably addresses the heating issue to some degree, but at that size and price point you may as well get a large grill pan from LeCreuset, W-S house brand, or Staub. Skinny Grill does have one advantage: thin profile, so easier to store than a full-depth pan. The standard size Skinny Grill (single burner model) is satisfactory when cooking for one or two, but not for a family (it could suffice IF the ends heated up evenly, but they don't). Recommend with reservations: ok for singles or couples only.Date published: 2017-10-18
