Rated 5 out of 5 by jccwc from no more hand cranking My first one didn't work well, the spiked end that holds the veggies kept hollowing out the veggie instead of holding it it place (the veggie would spin around on it), no matter what veggie or what speed. When I contacted Kitchenaid they replied immediately and sent me a brand new with a year warranty, even though mine was out of warranty. When I spiralized a potato I tried both the thick and thinner cutter and I found the thinner blade works best on small potatoes. I then hit them with evoo and salt, baked them like a hassleback potato. Delicious taste and wonderful texture. Make sure the veggies you use are firm. I also spiralized the top section of a butternut squash that I first peeled, and found a faster speed worked best. The blades need to snap into place, and are snapped back out when ready to remove. I never put mine in the dishwasher, just to make them last longer. Before removing the left over piece of veggie, first slide the blade unit back, remove the blade, then remove the waste (use as a snack or for stock). This avoids smacking you hand into the holding section of the blade causing a cut. The angel hair blade worked best when I used very firm veggies like carrots. The zucchini broke up too easily with the angel hair blade and then wasn't fit for stir frying. Make sure you cut your veggie to the appropriate size before fitting onto the spiralizer. I like that I can multitask while spiralizing.Date published: 2017-08-05Rated 4 out of 5 by LaLa_415 from I love the two thick spiral core & cuts. I love the two thick spiral core & cuts. I have only used it on cucumbers so far. I'll try apples and yams this weekend. The peeling didn't work on any of the cucumbers. Not even the thick green skinned ones. It only peeled one partially. The peeling mechanism doesn't reach the veg to even make an attempt at peeling, noodling didn't work for cucumbers either. As I experiment more my opinions may change. I love the ease of use and cleanup! The storage box is nice and organized! The sturdy metal parts are great. I am apprehensive about the plastic parts. Lets hope they can hold up under pressure and high volume usage!Date published: 2017-07-13Rated 5 out of 5 by mschaefe from Easy to use w/ great results My wife and I used the rest of our wedding gift cards to purchase this attachment. So far it's been awesome, easy to use, relatively easy to clean, and it has been worth the money. We didn't really do too much research before we purchased it but we didn't see any other powered spiralizers in the stores. Of course you have to have a Kitchenaid stand mixer to use this. So far we've spiralized potatoes, sweet potatoes, zucchini, squash, and apples. It's easy to attach to the mixer, easy to operate, you just have to make sure what you're spiralizing fits the spiralizer. If it doesn't just cut it down. For clean up we've found that following the instructions, it's easiest to wash the blades in the top rack of the dishwasher. It's hard to wash the spiral blades because of the teeth on them and little bits get stuck and you can't scrub without tearing up your sponge. Over all great quality, very sturdy, and gets the job done. P.S. it comes in its own storage box which is great.Date published: 2017-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by BettinaW from So much fun to spiralize with! I was skeptical about spiralizers before I got it. It seemed gimmicky and most models looked cheap. But, on a whim I bought this for spiralizing zucchini and sweet potatoes. Both worked wonderfully. The unit is very solid & durable. Most of it is made out of high quality metal. It is so much fun to use. My only wish is that they come up with an additional smaller spiralizer blade for more options.Date published: 2016-12-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Helpwithcooking from Ease of use I would highly recommend this sprilizer it is simple to attach and use. Most items are dishwasher safe for your convenience. It will get a lot of use this winter when making zucchini noodles to replace pasta in so many recipes I use. The ease of coring and peeling apples to make apple sauce is a breeze. It comes in a nice storage case which I really like so you always know where everything is. I purchased this from Williams-Sonoma and they have never disappointed me with the quality of their items.Date published: 2016-09-26Rated 5 out of 5 by CocoSuz from Spiralizer Heaven This attachment set is so fun and easy to use. It comes together in a toolbox type way. All 7 blades snuggled in one neat box. No need to buy additional blades. They're all here.Date published: 2016-09-23Rated 3 out of 5 by AZSandi from Disappointed I read many reviews, pros and cons and it seemed to promise easy sprializing. What no one has mentioned is that there is a great deal of waste after the sprializing process is finished. Of course, I use the remains, but I think people should know that the sprializing process leaves quite a bit of the vegetable unused and fairly mangled. The next problem is that unless you have a relatively uniform vegetable, i.e., a zucchini, the spiralizer does not work well. As we all know, sweet potatoes and yams are not very uniform. Also, the peeler is very inconsistent. It's hard to tell the skin from the actual vegetable as the peeler takes quite a bit of the vegetable with it when it peels. It took me forever to pick out the sweet potato skin. Again, another waste of product. I would not recommend this spiralizer. My friend has a manual spiralizer for a lot less money and gets far better results with less mess.Date published: 2016-06-23Rated 5 out of 5 by sko4664 from KitchenAid Spiralizer Plus I've had my new KitchenAid Spiralizer Plus attachment for about a week. It is very easy to attach and clean up. I have a smaller spiralizer, but this one really is much faster. It will peel an apple and slice it at the same time. I use it for zucchini and yellow squash zoodles a lot. I do recommend it. It has the new angel hair spiralizer blade and thinner slice blade -- 6 altogether and a peeler blade.Date published: 2016-05-19
