Rated 2 out of 5 by Marla Marla from Great mixer until you break the bowl The mixer is great but if you ever need to replace the glass bowl you are out of luck. There are no replacements. Do not buyDate published: 2019-07-09Rated 3 out of 5 by LCH1 from Not a fan I bought this mixer a little over a year ago via QVC and I wish I had returned it. The glass bowl design does not allow for proper mixing. I have to manaullay stir the bottom because the wisk and other attachments cannot reach the bottom of the bowl. (And yes I've tried adjusting it several times) .... I've never had the metal bowl but would be curious to know if it comes with the same issue.Date published: 2019-07-04Rated 4 out of 5 by Katleen from Greatttttte I love my new machine I wish it had more clearance for release blending out of bowl. I have to drop blender in the mixture. That the only dislike. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Date published: 2019-06-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Paula S. from LOVE LOVE LOVE this mixer! I purchased this a few months ago and love it. It has been easy to use, the attachments are also amazing. I can't say enough positive things about this mixer! I will say the bowl the first time I was trying to set it on the arms was a bit scary since the bowl is glass. Now that I have the hang of it, it's a snap! I had been debating this purchase for about 4 months. After being inspired some time ago by the Great British Baking Show, I started baking cookies and using a hand held mixer. I finally got the top of the line stand mixer and now I'm unstoppable! I'm having great fun and my friends and family are delighted! The first one was over 20 yrs old but I wanted to upgrade to a bigger unit. My 2nd mixer is a 6qt with the stainless steel bowl and after only a few years the motor gears were worn smooth so it’s useless. Is Kitchenaid using foreign metals to make their machines because I’m not the only one this has happened too. The same thing happened to my sister in laws 6qt. My 3rd and final Kitchenaid is the 6qt with the glass bowl. I was smart and purchased the extended warranty, however this darn bowl is so heavy but worse yet it doesn’t mix well at all. The bottom of the bowl doesn’t even get touched. I’ve been constantly lowering the bowl to scrape it down. Furthermore, the rubber gasket ripped off by the third using. WhT the heck is going on Kitchenaid????!Date published: 2019-05-02Rated 4 out of 5 by Hasjohns from Great features, great power! I bought this model in (2016?) after my first KitchenAid died. I really like it and it does everything I need. I have to pay attention not to overmix because of the power, my old 5 qt tilt head did not have that problem. Two issues, only about 3 uses after getting it, the seal around the bowl began to break off, I finally had to cut part of it. The second issue, the glass bowl is very heavy, not a problem before brain surgery but now it is almost too much! KitchenAid, please make a SS bowl for this model!Date published: 2019-04-16Rated 2 out of 5 by gigi3 from Just so disappointed I replaced my still-working 5qt with this work horse of a 6qt (I passed my beloved 14 year old 5qt on to my daughter) and after well over a year of owning this monster, I'm still so very disappointed in how this one does not hold a candle to the smaller ones. I'm considering trying to sell it and repurchase a 5qt that I know will mix ALL the ingredients of whatever is being mixed.Date published: 2019-04-14
