Rated 5 out of 5 by Dr Phillips from Bought it once for the rest of my life. We have had the Pro 600 for a few months now and it’s been wonderful. The grater/sliver attachment has been a god send and the mixer itself has been great. I can’t complain at all and would easily buy it again. It’s well worth it. I give my used ones to my daughter who is now addicted to them too. I decided long ago, that I would not buy this mixer because of the above issues. Against my better judgment, during a fund raiser, the Pro 600 mixer was bid on and was the winning bid. This Kitchen Aid Pro 600 mixer is very disappointing to the point of irritation: 1. Size Storage – the mixer head does not detach from the base which then requires storage of one entire cabinet, which I cannot afford to give up, so this mixer sits out on the counter – ( unsightly) 2. Weight - very heavy mixer to lift from any location 3. Beater - the beater spins around in a stationary bowl, instead of the old fashion stationary beaters with the spinning bowl this feature makes it very difficult to add ingredients, even when using the attachment that comes with the mixer, as the ingredients land on top of the beater instead of landing in your ingredients being mixed. 4. Bowl – why is that “bump / bubble” in the bottom of the bowl, just to irritate the user? ( rhetorical question); numerous stopping and starting and lowering of the bowl is required to scrape and incorporate the sitting ingredients in this area, which still requires hand mixing my ingredients before I can bake. 5. Attachments: no attachments come with this mixer; expensive attachments are available for separate purchase. This Kitchen Aid Pro 600 mixer has caused me decrease my baking by 80%, ( which is not bad for weight loss) but that is not the point. I find that mixing my ingredients by hand is much less irritating and more gratifying. My Oster Kitchen Center purchased in 1984, (which was a refurbished model) was a joy and came with all the attachments: meat grinder, food processor, different sets so beaters and two sizes of bowels. Oster had the spinning bowl and two stationary beaters which beat up a storm. My 1984 Oster was on it’s last leg as of October 2018, so I decided to buy this Kitchen Aid, I am truly sorry I did. I would not recommend this mixer to anyone.Date published: 2019-03-29Rated 5 out of 5 by PatPat58 from Best Quality This is my 2nd mister my original is 36 years old and still runs fine! We recently purchased a summer home so I needed only for that home. I will not use anything else but a kitchen aid. I have used it a few times and found it to be delightful to use. My only problem is placing the bowl in the notches and getting it out. I love having the extra space in the bowl. I find that I don't mix as much which makes for a better dough. I am very pleased. I will figure the notch placement out...
