Rated 2 out of 5 by Sfm21 from Hairtrigger Nozzle! As the other reviewers say, it makes great coffee. However, the nozzle is so sensitive that my refrigerator has enjoyed coffee almost as many times as I have. If anything so much as breathes near the nozzle (such as the fridge door), it's a downpour into the drawers below. Not a fun cleanup. I've made perhaps 10 batches of cold brew and ended up with a refrigerator mess 4 of those times. Love the coffee, but won't be using this any more, simply not worth the mess.Date published: 2019-05-28Rated 5 out of 5 by WESTVILLAGE from EXCELLENT COFFEE Nice design and easy to use and clean. Fits nicely in fridge. I also go the Peugeot Bresil Coffee Mill which grinds a more course ground for this cold brew.Date published: 2019-05-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Edward from Save Yourself the store bought Coffee Drinks!!!!!! Let Me tell you. I have saved a lot of Money in two weeks. At $1.79 to $3.00 per drink. I was purchasing one to three beverage daily. This will pay for itself in a month. It is compact and easily cleaned. Parts are available if things do break however this is already used several times daily and does not have cheap plastic but nice heavy glass and metal or metal clad pieces. I have seen some bad reviews about this product having sludge in the concentrate. Let me tell this "Read the Manual" it makes concentrate not straight drinkable out of the tap. Well you can but the size of this leans more to making concentrate. Manual says to use coarser grinds and also gives you a size to grind on their grinder. You should be able to figure this out with one or two tries. But I can tell you this. Purchase some cheese cloth and use those flavored Coffees you buy at the store. I do not recommend using the 9 oz of dry coffee the manual does however. I use about 3 oz to 4 oz dry coffee. Tie the small grinds up in the cheese cloth grab a glass or mug put the cheese cloth ball or coarse grinds into it and pour room temperature water over it till about half full and wait about an hour let the bag or course grinds soak up the water till they sink. After the grinds sink. I move the grinds to the basket and pour them slowly into the basket. You can follow the Manual and do this in the basket but I find using glass or cup soak method works easier and makes less mess and easier clean up. Once you put the soaked grinds into the basket. Fill the basket to the fill line. Use a spoon or small lid to shield the soaked grinds while filling. This creates less floating which leads to the sludge complaint. Again "Read the Manual" The soaking is a must to making the product work. Now Place the unit in the fridge and 12 to 24 hours later grab your Mug or Bottle of choice Fill it no more then half add you favorite Creamer and top off with filtered water. Now enjoy and save yourself all that money your give the coffee companies. Extra Tip reuse those glass bottles or purchase some 12 oz to 20 oz milk bottles. They all can be run though the dishwasher or hand washed. Recycle and save. I have reused plastic bottles myself however the flavors do transfer to plastic overtime. I will be purchasing a second one to try to make Tea concentrate.Date published: 2018-08-23Rated 5 out of 5 by RBC Shops from Makes great cold brew and cold brew tea as well As of most Kitchen Aid products they did it again with this well made cold brewing system .Easy to use just put the grounds In the brewer and let it do it's thing you do it the same for tea you just use less tea . 12 to 24 hrs later and you have great cold brew . Ok, I'll admit it's a lot of money for a cold brew...HOWEVER, I am a true coffee lover. I realize you can make cold brew in mason jar with come cheese cloth. That method is messy, hard to store, can have inconsistent results. This coffee maker made the very best cold brew ever. It was rich and flavorful and crystal clear. It stores beautifully and the dispenser makes it no mess, no fuss, delicious cold brew at the ready. I'm happy I splurged on it. It's extremely well made and I couldn't be happier. At this price, it would have been returned had I not been delighted with the investment. If you are a coffee lover, you won't be sorry.Date published: 2017-05-29
