Rated 1 out of 5 by Ptwo from Terrible! Don’t waste your money First, it took weeks longer than stated to deliver this item. And then it turns out to be HORRIBLE. The lid won’t stay closed and the popcorn explodes in the microwave. To add insult to the situation, Williams Sonoma won’t even let you return the darned thing.Date published: 2019-03-27Rated 2 out of 5 by Cainwm from Don't waste your money! I really wanted to like this item. I liked the idea of single serve popcorn without the microwave bags with lots of ingredients. Even after trying the "overlapping" corners to close it, it still made a mess in microwave. Much cleaner and simpler to use a paper bag to pop in microwave. Will be tossing these out, as I cannot return them. Very disappointed!Date published: 2019-02-13Rated 4 out of 5 by ja0112 from You have to close the lid the correct way! The instructions say to 'close the lid so the sides overlap. I initially just closed one side and then the other and put it in the microwave. As soon as the first kernals popped, out they came into the microwave. Be careful! They are HOT. You have to 'overlap' the sides like you would to close a box on itself. One corner has to be on top and the opposite corner has to be on the bottom. It would be helpful if they could print a symbol on the corners to help explain how to do this.Date published: 2018-12-05
Can someone tell me how to get the flaps to work every time? I think I’m doing it the same and correctly each time, but so far it worked once, and all the other times popcorn and seeds are all over the microwave _a huge mess. I’d love for it to work.Hi Brenda, In case instructions weren't included or if you no longer have them: Usage 1) Pour a small amount of kernels into the maker, ensuring they reach up to the same level as the raised circle in the centre (approx 30g). Do not under-fill as this may cause the popcorn to burn. 2) Fold both lid flaps down as shown, making sure they overlap. 3) Place maker in the centre of the microwave oven and cook on full power. Cooking times will vary between 1½ - 5 minutes depending on the power of your microwave. The lid flaps will open during cooking. 4) Watch carefully and stop the microwave when the lid flaps have opened and the popped corn has reached the top of the maker. If the product starts to smoke or a burning smell occurs, stop cooking immediately. 5) Allow to stand for 1 minute then carefully remove product from microwave. Place on a heat-resistant surface and allow to cool until safe to handle – take care as base may still be hot. 6) Add any flavourings and enjoy.Date published: 2019-02-21
