Rated 1 out of 5 by BeeZee from What a mess I bought this coffee grinder along with the pour over kit and cold brew jug. This thing is awful. It's awkward to hold and doesn't fit in the silicone sleeve properly. The lid isn't secure and just sits on top of the grinder. One wrong move and you got beans everywhere. Once you've ground up your beans and taken the grinder off the jar to replace it with the storage lid, there's no where to put the grinder. It doesn't sit flush, so it rolls all over the cupboard. It also takes 5 minutes just to grind enough beans for 1 cup of coffee. The only reason to get this is if your really into adjusting grind setting.Date published: 2017-09-28Rated 5 out of 5 by QualityFan from know thy coffee beans We first purchased the last version of this manual grinder because electric grinders are so loud, and they end up having a metal taste to it. The best part is: You can know FEEL the beans that you brew! By manual grinding we found out that darker beans are softer/ easier to grind, decaf/ drier beans are much harder to grind. This adds to another level of coffee enjoyment to our daily morning routine! The ceramic burr also eliminates the metal smell/ taste off the beans. It's also adjustable for coarseness/ fineness. Be aware: You are going to spend 90 sec grinding beans, instead of the quick 15 sec pulse on electric! but you're waiting for the water to boil anyway; and you eliminate morning acoustic pollution ;-) I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have a better coffee experience! There are also many small parts so be patient (and save the manual) - it's worth it.Date published: 2017-08-27
