Rated 3 out of 5 by Docnoir from Imperfect design but good coffee Not happy everyday is a struggle to remove basket and it only lets you pour a small amount unless you remove the plunger. Coffee is good but the should have a screw on basket mountDate published: 2017-09-01Rated 5 out of 5 by MKRE from Great Coffee We recently purchased a second Espro Press because we always have one ready to go--the coffee is great, stays hot even when guests get up later than we do. I highly recommend. Taking the filter apart for the dishwasher can be a little cumbersome, but the quality of the coffee is worth it.Date published: 2017-06-14Rated 1 out of 5 by ingeniusone from Subpar for $100+ French Press I bought this because I broke my glass french press washing it and was looking for a sleep stainless steel alternative that would keep my coffee warm. I have to say I am very disappointed. As one other reviewer stated the baskets in my press have gotten stuck, I can only ever get 2 ounces of liquid out no matter how much water I put in. I have to remove the plunger each time to get all my coffee out, its a mess! And it never keeps my coffee hot. I spoke to a WS manager and she said I got a defective one so here's to hoping the replacement doesn't have the same issues - I really want to love this as others do..Date published: 2017-05-27Rated 5 out of 5 by Beans from The best French Press in every category! This is, hands down, the best French press out there! I say this after having tried Bodum and also tried the Espro glass ones. I spent weeks researching and trying out french presses before I settled on this one. The double-filtration system really sets it apart from the other presses. The ones with a metal mesh seem way flimsy compared to these filters. I watched the videos from Espro's website and I prepare my coffee just the way they tell you to do and it tastes SO good, people have asked me if this is espresso! The double insulated walls not only keep it hot longer, they also make it so that the press is never hot from the outside. And the coffee comes out hotter than when it's made with an espresso machine! Being that it's not glass, this press is a FOREVER type of thing. I will say that if you're going to go for a glass one, I recommend the Espro glass one - it's made way sturdier and easier to clean than Bodum. I waited until it was on sale and used a coupon, and I got a better deal from Williams-Sonoma than Amazon or any other retailer. Once I realized I wanted a stainless steel press, I had to get the Espro because it has the best design. There is no stainless steel French press out there that looks sexier! One thing I was confused about when I was trying to decide is which size to get. Keep in mind that even if you go with the medium one, it's still very large (makes two big mugs of coffee if you fill it to the top line). You should only get the large one if you're making coffee for more than 2 people.Date published: 2017-05-24Rated 5 out of 5 by San Ramon from Great coffee! Design change. I've never had a French press and I love the way the coffee tastes. Rich and non-acidic. Just place the coffee grounds in the pot and pour hot water over. Wait 7 minutes, depress the filters and coffee is ready. I noticed Espro has CHANGED THE DESIGN OF FILTER BASKETS. The new design now has the lower basket clicking in. It won't come apart. I highly recommend.Date published: 2017-04-24Rated 2 out of 5 by TurbotPoacher from Nice product, but... After quickly realizing that the smaller press was insufficient for serving four cups of coffee, I immediately bought the largest press. The other reviews are correct; it's easy to clean and the outside does not get hot. But, fill the presses up too much with water, and you'll get grinds in your coffee as you insert the filter. In fact, if you fill water up to the top line of the larger pot before inserting the filter, you are assured of grinds. (I now put in the filter mechanism before pouring in all of the water; it’s an inconvenience.) My biggest complaint is that the filter upon being fully pressed leaves a significant amount of fluid at the bottom of the pot and it won't readily pour out. Sometimes, the outer filter will even get stuck at the bottom of the press if you do not have everything fastened just so. My 30 year old glass French press, while much harder to clean and with a hot-to-the-touch glass container, doesn’t have these problems.Date published: 2016-12-16Rated 5 out of 5 by 1998 from Makes the Best Coffee EVER & I MEAN EVER! Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to travel in Ireland where I enjoyed the best coffee I have ever experienced. It was always served from a stainless steel French Press. I returned to the US and immediately began looking for a suitable press. I am so happy I tried the Large Espro P7 Stainless-Steel French Press and I remain very pleased with my purchase. I just boil the water, add the coffee grounds (Italian) wait 5-8 minutes and then press slowly. The coffee is so amazing. The double wall really keeps the coffee perfectly temped. It's not fussy to clean and is of superior quality! I highly recommend this coffee press. YUMMY COFFEE! The super fine double filtration system works amazingly!Date published: 2016-12-04Rated 5 out of 5 by AnnamalStyle from French Press Of My Dreams I've used my Bodum religiously for about three years. I didn't want the extra waste regular coffee makers or k-cup machines put in land-fields. The only problem with it was the sludge that it leaves at the bottom of my mug/thermos. The Espro's double filter minimizes that. Not completely but it's way better. I have enjoyed my coffee more this week than I have in a while. Rarely do I order drip or flavored coffee from places like, let's say, Tar Trucks. Because it's just plain awful. If you want great coffee get a French Press. If you want great coffee with thoughtful design and far less sludge in mind, get an Espro. I've been drinking Ka'u coffee beans from the Big Island of Hawaii with my Espro, and it's delicious. Thanks, Canada and Williams-Sonoma for my Espro! Also, Williams-Sonoma phone customer service was very helpful with discrepancies with my online order. Thumbs up to them.Date published: 2016-09-11
