- Toasted Breakfast Sandwich Recipe
Toast the bread in a toaster and spread the butter on one side of each slice. Top 4 of the slices with the cheese, dividing evenly. Set aside.
In a 12-inch nonstick griddle or fry pan over medium heat, warm the oil. Break 2 eggs into the pan and cook until the whites are set and the edges of the yolks are just beginning to set, 3 to 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a plate. Repeat with the remaining 2 eggs.
Place 1 egg on top of each cheese-topped bread slice, followed by 2 bacon slices. Arrange the arugula on top. Cover each sandwich with one of the remaining bread slices, buttered side down. Serve immediately. Serves 4.

Rated 1 out of 5 by WESTVILLAGE from Poor Toasting Nothing Auto Sure it looks nice in the kitchen but does not work well. It toasts terribly! Over time it was very hard to clean. Smudges on body would not come off over time. It’s not automatic. Does not have a “keep warm” button. No sound when toast is ready.Date published: 2019-08-16Rated 1 out of 5 by Sara46518 from I'd Give It Zero Stars If Possible Expensive piece of garbage. Toasts unevenly, and after having it a couple yrs I still cannot find the right toasting setting to satisfy me. Slots cannot accommodate larger than small, square slices of bread, and forget trying to fit today's standard size bagels. I'm beyond disappointed, and it's beyond the point of return. I plan on wrecking it in the backyard this summer.Date published: 2019-03-24Rated 4 out of 5 by JanetH from Great Toaster/Not Great Warranty for US Residents My elements need replacing (I assume), as my toast is suddenly only toasting on one side. When I tried to register my toaster, you can't if you're a US Resident. You also can't ship your broken toaster, nor can you buy replacement parts from Dualit. When I called Williams-Sonoma, they told me I had to deal directly with Dualt...but since that isn't option, I'm stuck. So much for spending hundreds on a toaster!Date published: 2019-01-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Ber6398 from Beautiful authentic copper color and works perfect This is a fantastic toaster with gorgeous construction which makes it worthy of the permanent countertop real estate. It is very simplistic and love the ability to pop up bread while toasting without stopping the heating elements in case it needs to be lowered again. Works perfectly with a simple elegance and stunning build quality. Very happy with my purchase! I’ve included pictures to get a better sense of the exact copper color as there was not much available online in realistic lighting. It is more of a true copper rather than the popular pinkish rose gold, I hope that is helpful.Date published: 2018-06-20Rated 1 out of 5 by Jean10 from Never toasted well. We bought the four slice version several years ago and have cursed it ever since. It doesn't toast evenly even though we paid a fortune. To toast bread we have to turn front to back, up to down during the process. We tried to return it to Williams and Sonoma but the return period had expired so we have been stuck with it and continue to curse it.Date published: 2018-01-24Rated 4 out of 5 by viclizwal from Stunning! I received this as a gift a couple of years ago. It is very well-built. I'm sure it will stand the test of time. The quality of the manufacture is astonishing. The feel of it is luxurious. Honestly, the engineering is just alright. With softer breads, it can smash one half of the slice when popping them out. It cannot fit anything larger than a thin bagel. Also, there are definitely cold spots. Yet with all that said, I still love it. It is stunning on my counter. I have received so many compliments, more than any other of my appliances. All of my guests find it absolutely gorgeous.Date published: 2017-08-01Rated 5 out of 5 by stxenia from IN A CLASS BY ITSELF! Not only is this toaster good looking, its the only toaster that has ever lasted!!! I was going through a new toaster every several years and was finally fed up and decided to get this one. I've had it for 15 years or more, and still works like a charm. Worth every single penny!Date published: 2016-11-26Rated 3 out of 5 by siggyl from Only ok, but expensive I've had the same Dualit for about 20 years. It looks beautiful. I paid about same price 20 yrs ago. It was a 4 star when first purchased. As others have said, it takes longer to brown the bread when starting from a cold toaster. Each additional toasting, you have to keep checking the toast so it doesn't burn. Very bothersome when at the same time you are cooking something on the stove. For the past couple of years, it browns unevenly. The lower half is lighter then the upper half, so I have to turn the toast 1/2 way through. Although I have worked with the inconveniences and it has lasted this many years, I guess the price wasn't too bad since I am still using it after 20 years. I'll continue to use it until it no longer works. I won't buy another Duallit, but I'm sure the next one I buy won't last anywhere near as long. Things just aren't made as well as in past.Date published: 2016-11-12
