- More About de Buyer
The de Buyer family has been making cookware and bakeware in the French town of Val-d'Ajol since 1830. The family-owned company originally crafted pots and cauldrons for cooking over a live fire using iron ore extracted from the region. Pairing modern technology with a timeless attention to quality, de Buyer still creates cookware and bakeware in the classic French shapes and materials traditionally used in professional kitchens. In addition to copper and iron collections, the company also offers stainless steel and nonstick lines to meet the needs of today's home cooks.
The info on care above say to not use detergents to clean the steel but there is a black film across the stone. It also had a sticker on the bottom of the steel. When I tried to peel it off, there was glue residue left, how do I clean this off?Hi akhitk, This steel is similar to a cast-iron pan and needs to be “seasoned” with oil after each use. The more you use the steel pan, the more discolored it will become over time. This is a natural process. You can use olive oil on a clean cloth to soak the adhesive area, then rub using the oiled cloth until the residue is removed.Date published: 2018-12-28
