- More about de Buyer
The de Buyer family has been making cookware in the French town of Val-d’Ajol since 1830. The family-owned company originally crafted pots and cauldrons for cooking over a live fire using iron ore extracted from the region. Pairing modern technology with a timeless attention to quality, De Buyer still creates cookware in the classic French shapes and materials traditionally used in professional kitchens. In addition to copper and iron collections, the company also offers stainless-steel and nonstick lines to meet the needs of today’s home cooks.
Rated 5 out of 5 by dianaColorado from Wonderful crepe pan! I read all the reviews and was very nervous! but seasoned the pan before use and now it is absolutely wonderful. crepes are perfect. anything else I use it for comes out fine! I always coat it with a touch of oil before I put it away.Date published: 2018-05-29Rated 5 out of 5 by jessh8752 from This is a great pan! I’ve had this pan for several years. It’s fantastic for crepes, but works well for eggs and toasted cheese sandwiches too. I seasoned per the instructions at the beginning, and follow the care directions (basically treating it like a cast iron pan - no soap! If you use soap, it will discolor and you’ll have to season it again.) I highly recommend this pan!Date published: 2018-01-28Rated 5 out of 5 by 101txcooker from The best crepe pan! "Season" the pan in the beginning according to the instructions that accompany the pan, and you will have perfect crepes time after time. Love this pan! Ignore criticisms of pan as they must not be experienced cooks. The wooden dowel that is included is a great asset to the cook for turning when the first side of the crepe is set and brown. Very, very good pan.Date published: 2016-05-09Rated 5 out of 5 by NE100 from The Most Incredible Crepe/Egg pan Ever Made I had one of these pans for years.. My partner also makes great crepes in this pan. My pan was stolen... so I am back in US and purchasing another. I thought I had lost forever my best pan. But, here it is!!!Date published: 2015-12-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Manger from My pet implement I love this blue-steel beauty! I have owned this for 13 years and it has served me well. I seasoned it properly initially, and it has remained non-stick. The first crepe is always a sacrifice to the crepe gods… but otherwise it works for white flour & buckwheat crepes and pretty much everything else I toss in it.Date published: 2015-04-19Rated 1 out of 5 by CASF from Very poor quality pan - very discolored I bought this pan over a year ago (in 2014). I seasoned it and was NOT impressed with the first use. The crepes did not easily slide out of the pan. The worst feature is the discoloration of the pan, which happened within the first month. A reviewer said that you cannot have too much moisture around the pan. Does 40% humidity in San Francisco harm a very fragile pan? This pan is a waste of money.Date published: 2015-04-17Rated 1 out of 5 by Vesna from Very disappointed Used twice and it's completely rusted. Have to use a spatula to flip crepes as they don't lift off pan well. Will be buying a new pan.Date published: 2015-04-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Kimmie728 from Fantastic pan! I love this pan and I have owned it for 9 years! It makes flawless crepes and as I have moved to alternative flours, the performance hasn't decreased. I now make crepes out of chestnut flour, almond flour, and even chocolate millet crepes. The trick is to properly season the pan and never let soap touch it again. Sometimes I clean it with salt and hot water but that is all. 9 years no rust! If your house is humid, I suggest storing the pan upside down. Sometimes the issue isn't how well you have seasoned the pan, it is the residual moisture in the air of your home. Also, it is lightweight enough that I can spread the crepe batter around the surface of the pan using a swirling motion with my wrist.Date published: 2014-08-21
