Rated 1 out of 5 by stmarkdad from Not for espresso Used it for a week now. Loud; yes, uneven grind; yes No ability to grind for espresso, actually it grinds a pretty nasty cup of coffee.Date published: 2019-07-08Rated 2 out of 5 by Kathy from Not good for grinding small amount of beans I bought this grinder a couple of weeks ago, and am sorry now that I wasted my money. I wanted a grinder that I could choose the grind setting, and that works well. However, I use the 6 cup setting, and add three coffee scoops of beans, and it does not grind all the beans in the first run. I have to hit the start button a second time in order for all the beans to be fully ground. I try to push all the beans close to the center, but it doesn't help. During the second grind cycle, beans are jumping out of the grinder, and popping all over the bowl like Mexican jumping beans. I'm assuming because of this extra grinding, the motor won't last long.Date published: 2019-06-23Rated 1 out of 5 by shoedog from Get What You Pay For Have had this about a year and the motor burned out. Did a fair job when it worked, but nothing to crow about. Always a mixture of fines and coarser grains. Very loud. My wife always left the kitchen when I used it, and I even walked into the other room at times. Am thinking of buying a Baratza even though it costs fives times as much.Date published: 2019-01-05Rated 3 out of 5 by Minimumsix13 from It's fine. Not recommended for manual brew methods I've had this for maybe 4 years? I've seen some people's have quit on them after a few but it's held out for me, and I grind per-brew several times a day. So durability is +1. Some load beans per-grind, I just fill the hopper and it's big enough to hold most of a bag of beans, so +1 star there. I don't have a ton of counter space, so it's small footprint is a +1. On the cons, it's very loud and has a wildly even uneven grind, if that makes sense. It grinds accurate to the setting you choose but has trouble outputting all the grinds, which results in a lot of over-ground powder mixed in with your coffee that can clog up a pour over (like a Chemex) and cloud a French Press brew. If you just want fresh beans for your drip coffee maker, it's fine. If you want to do any manual brewing I'd say pass on this one. I'd spend a little more and get a more reliable grinder.Date published: 2018-12-07Rated 2 out of 5 by Eyenstein from Meh - Uneven grind and VERY loud no matter what the grind setting you will always get clumps and portions of super fine espresso grind powder mixed in with the grounds. Set to medium, what you get is a mess of everything from powder to medium grounds. This is the loudest thing in the house. Will wake everyone up.Date published: 2018-12-03Rated 4 out of 5 by Kiris1 from Works great, but loud I use this coffee grinder almost daily. I’ve had it for almost 3 years. I have not had a problem, once. There is a little static, which keeps a very small amount of finely ground coffee at the top of the bin, but I just tap the bin against the counter, and it mixed with the grounds that have a consistent grind size. The only real complaint is that the machine is loud—however, grinding beans makes noise, and I assume all machines are loud. Just be prepared to wake people up in the morning, or grindvthe coffee the day prior.Date published: 2018-11-21Rated 4 out of 5 by Jonny Boy from Easy cleanup I had this for a month. It's good. My first conical burr grinder though. At first the static grinds were annoying to cleanup but once i got a system down its no problem. I use it for work. It's kinda loud but a quick grind. Great cheapo!Date published: 2018-09-24Rated 3 out of 5 by manny from Good but not durable I had two of these. They ground the coffee well but were hard to clean. The motor quit on each after a couple of years. I will not buy a third one.Date published: 2018-08-05
