Rated 2 out of 5 by Luvin Lux from Great Concept, but choose a better model... Great concept, to sear then slow cook in the same appliance cuts down on kitchen mess for sure. But this particular Cuisinart appliance did NOT hold up, just as other reviewers have said. WS should really stop selling this. My solution? I replaced this with the Ninja "4-in-1" Multicooker Plus (slow-cooker, stovetop-sear, bake, steam) and benefitted from the additional functions as well. Superior versatility, better build quality, insert does not flake off... and Ninja products last forever. Heed my advice, you will not be sorry!Date published: 2018-01-10Rated 1 out of 5 by Experienced Home Cook from When it's bad it's horrid... I own one of these which is a replacement for the first one I bought because that simply stopped working within the first year of use. Williams Sonoma customer service was great. This replacement cooking unit itself has lasted about 4 years but I quit using it because of the insert. It has worked decently otherwise, though not to my standards as I don't think it holds onto true temperatures. It can get too hot at the same setting or too low. When it does work or at least has a receipt going that has the temperature requirements it seems built to like, it is a useful, large capacity cooker that has really helped cut down on the mess. The concept is great. However, the insert is junk. It's coating began to bubble after a couple of years. I used it for a while longer but then finally stopped because the coating came off. Cuisinart would not replace the insert as they said it is out of the warranty period when I stopped using it and called them. The insert is now $60 before shipping. It used to be $75, which was outrageous and is one reason why I just gave up fixing the issue for a time and cooked in other ways. Now, they will give you 20% off an entirely new unit, but I wouldn't buy it again. I am like a lot of you who spend the money on higher quality appliances so they will last and perform better than standard. I have Kitchen-Aid and Vitamix and Ankarsrum and the like that have held their performance standards and value for years. This should have been one of them, considering the price and the company's claims of quality. I'm buying the replacement insert pot this year to get some more $ mileage out of it, but next year, I will be looking for a replacement appliance - assuming this one lasts the winter. Williams-Sonoma ought to remove this product from their offerings.Date published: 2017-12-29Rated 1 out of 5 by CCBaker from The pot failed to stand up to their own recipe! I got this multicooker years ago and am just getting around to getting the pot replaced. One of the first times I used it was to make the Moroccan Lamb stew recipe, which was found in the booklet that came with the unit. Unfortunately, not only was the stew undesirable, it burned the pot causing an increasingly worsening problem with little flecks of metal coming off. Debating on buying a replacement pot or just getting a new multicooker because the face cracked at some point. Bummer, I really wanted to love this but it's giving me reasons not to :(Date published: 2017-10-03Rated 5 out of 5 by DiabeticCupcake from Excellent! I bought this as a gift for myself for Christmas almost 4 years ago and I LOVE it!!! The quality is fantastic and I love that I can do everything in that one pot from sear to slow cook since seriously, who wants to have to sauté on the stove and use another pan. The one caveat is that the nonstick part is pretty sensitive as it scratched within the first few uses, but I had accidentally used a metal utensil, so just remember to use your non-stick safe utensils.Date published: 2017-09-27Rated 3 out of 5 by DarlaG from Honestly I give this both 5 stars and 1 star I've owned this for 3 1/2 years and have used it almost every week. I do overnight oatmeal once a week, cook stew and chili all winter, and keep the kitchen cool in the summer using this. The browning function is great for stews and braising meat. So...the one start is that is just stopped working. And it's only a 3 year warranty so I'm just out of the warranty period. For the price of this unit, I expected to use it for many years. So disappointed. But I'm hooked on the function so will research other brands before buying another Cuisinart. In the end, I may buy another one for the 3 1/2 great years. I now can't cook without it.Date published: 2017-07-14Rated 1 out of 5 by trbl_mkr from Total garbage. I received the first version of this slow cooker as a wedding gift- It died in less than a year. Because I had not purchased it myself, I had to drive an hour and a half to return it to the Williams-Sonoma store, just to have another shipped. The replacement fared slightly better, but not much. It too just died, after being very fussy for a year. The quality of this product is not well-aligned with the luxury image of Williams-Sonoma. DON'T BUY IT!Date published: 2017-06-17Rated 2 out of 5 by tryon_2000 from Great Concept ..... Terrible Performance Bought one of these units and several of it's functions quit working (High Slow Cook and Warm). Brought the defective unit into our local store and they exchanged for a brand new one. The customer service gal said that they had been having issues. Well now my second unit has started acting flaky. The High Slow Cook function has stopped working. Not only would I not recommend this multi-cooker, I believe that Williams Sonoma should consider dropping it from their catalog.Date published: 2017-06-05Rated 2 out of 5 by Denise from It was great when it worked Loved this but it was temperamental and had to be set just right. Then it just stopped cooking. Had to throw it away. Ridiculous for 2 years old!!! Don't waste your money.Date published: 2017-03-31
