- Panfried Falafel with Cumin and Garlic
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the chickpeas and cook until slightly softened but still very firm in the center, about 10 minutes. Drain the chickpeas and let cool slightly.
In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic and parsley and process until coarsely pureed. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the baking powder, cumin, the 3/4 tsp. salt and the red pepper flakes. Refrigerate the mixture until cold, about 1 hour.
In a large nonstick fry pan over medium-high heat, warm about 1 Tbs. of the olive oil. With wet hands, shape 1/4-cup portions of the chickpea mixture into patties about 3 inches wide. Place 3 or 4 patties at a time in the pan and cook, turning once, until browned on both sides, 4 to 6 minutes total. Repeat to shape and cook the remaining falafel, adding more olive oil to the pan as needed. Serve immediately. Makes 12 to 14 patties; serves 4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gloria59 from Great little chopper I have used this for months now, and I have done nuts, cabbage, tomatoes and saved me hours of chopping. Always have trusted Cusinart to get my kitchen needs met, they have never failed me.Date published: 2018-12-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Cooks for u from Compact and easy to use. I have been using this mini for the last month and every chance I get! It is so easy to use, easy to clean and does the job of a larger unit. So powerful and so compact!. I recommend this product t to everyone !Date published: 2018-12-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Marciaher from Great product Im very happy to add this product to my kitchen, is great for making sauces. Love it!Date published: 2018-12-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Julia M. from Very good I bought this a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. Plugged it in and does nothing. WS send a replacement and it did the same thing. Call Cuisinart support and they were no help at all.Date published: 2018-12-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Bruce in Studio City from The sign of Quality: A metal housing! I have wanted a mini-prep for a long time. It's perfect for everyday cooking jobs for every day meals. ( Pesto, Salsa, Guacamole, Salad Dressing, on and on ) A larger food processor is just overkill and you tend to not want to use it for little everyday jobs. If you have more than 1 item to process it's so easy to give it a quick rinse and go on to the next item. Easy clean! It works great and I think it's built to last. As far as cons, well everybody seems to have something but for what this product is intended for I see none. You will like this product.Date published: 2018-12-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Grisha from A Strong Right Hand I love knife work in cooking, but there are so many times when this little guy does the fine stuff better and faster. It's my second model, and since I got it I've processed chopped liver, essential purrees for Rick Bayless's chiles, starters for Indian keemas, mushrooms for duxelles...it never stops. Our kitchen is very small, but this tool is always there, at hand, with no larger a footprint than a paper towel holder. Yay!Date published: 2018-11-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Ket123 from Perfect size I purchased this item for its smaller size for everyday use. I own a large food processor which is rarely used. This seemed to be a a good idea and I’m glad I did. The unit is quite powerful and durable.Date published: 2018-11-10
Does this food processor have other disks (e.g., for shredding)?Hi Elaine, The Mini Prep does not include any discs. It only comes with the SmartPower® Blade with BladeLock System.Date published: 2018-12-06
