Rated 1 out of 5 by Frustrated in Fargo from My 1st CEK40 "failed" after limited use. Purchased a CEK40 Electric Knife approx. 3 years ago. Used sparingly, Easter, Christmas, etc. After 3 years of limited use, it quit running (right before I completed cutting our Easter Ham). Very disappointed. Read reviews, CEK 40 reviews positive. Frustrating, but, I purchased my 2nd CEK 40.Date published: 2019-06-11Rated 5 out of 5 by BigZ from What took me so long!! Handy, versatile, convenient knife that works great on roasts. Don't know why it took me so long to buy it. Expect to eliminate some older cutlery now that I have this utility.Date published: 2019-06-05Rated 5 out of 5 by Lil sis from Electric Knife This knife works very well. I had the same model for several years, and like others have said, the plastic body got a crack and I had a difficult time using. Decided to go with the same model so my old blades could still be used.Date published: 2019-06-02Rated 3 out of 5 by Renee M from Design Flaws need to be addressed I bought this knife because the independent electric knife reviews I looked at on line said this was the best for the price, it got 5 stars. I thought the handle on first knife I bought got overly warm, almost hot, when I cut up a 10# ham with it. Also this handle didn't fit well in the display case. The space for the top is too low, so the handle doesn't clip into the case and is prone to fall out. So, I sent it back and ordered a replacement. The replacement works and fits the same way. So, I guess this is the way this knife is supposed to be. The blades work well and it cuts very well, but I feel there are design flaws that really need to be addressed.Date published: 2019-05-31Rated 5 out of 5 by SpikeBBC from Great knife The two different blades make cutting anything so easy.Date published: 2019-05-21Rated 5 out of 5 by Lee T from Good Knife This is my second Cuisinart knife. It works much better than the meat blade when I make bread.Date published: 2019-05-16Rated 5 out of 5 by Gramma Audge from Great knife Engineered so that it is comfortable to use. Can this cut a block of cold cheese? Can it cut a block of room temperature cheese?Hi Leslie, According to the user manual, the carving blade is very versatile. In addition to slicing meats such as turkey, chicken, salami, ham and roasts, it can also be used to cut fruits like melon and pineapple, vegetables such as squash, eggplant and zucchini, as well as hard cheeses. Unfortunately, it doesn't state what temperature the cheese should be at.Date published: 2018-12-28
