Rated 5 out of 5 by KimE from Great popcorn, safe, and easy to use I just bought a second one of these to give as a gift. I've had my first popper for a few years now and I'm not sure I understand the negative reviews about it. I've found mine makes great popcorn and is super easy to use. My kids absolutely love making popcorn with this, and especially love watching it "pop" open in the microwave. It's silicone so it's safe (and so much healthier than the store bought popcorn bags, which is the main reason I own one). A few kernels of popcorn do shoot out while popping (less than 5) but I don't find that to be a big deal. And yes, it does get hot in the microwave, but the tabs on the side cool off quickly enough to be able to remove the popper from the microwave. I serve the popcorn straight from the popper, so I just put a towel around the hot bowl so my little ones are protected from the heat (the heat won't burn you, but it is hot. You could alternately just put the popcorn in a serving dish if you were worried).Date published: 2018-02-27Rated 1 out of 5 by Robi from Not Happy! Purchased this as an alternative to store-bought microwave popcorn. So far, I have not been able to keep the tabs down during the popping and they pop out all over the microwave. I've used it twice. Hoping as it gets used it will improve? Disappointed.Date published: 2018-02-18Rated 1 out of 5 by FallsChef from Awful Total waste of money. I don't want to use microwave packs from the store because they all contain Palm Oil - very bad for environment/wildlife - so I liked the idea of this. Popcorn pops right out of the container all over the inside of the microwave, and container gets so hot you burn your fingers trying to get it out of the microwave oven. Ended up throwing it out and instead took a plastic colander, added popcorn tossed with a little oil and covered with a towel. Popped perfectly (add butter later in the bowl...) Don't waste your money on this.Date published: 2017-12-16Rated 2 out of 5 by hugsandquiches from waste of money I purchased this maker several months ago. I wanted something easy for my family to use and microwavable. This maker has several problems, not all the kereals pop, longer timing resulted in burnt popcorn and unpopped kernels, and the fold down flaps can be tricky to fold down. On the plus size, it is small for storage.Date published: 2016-03-18Rated 4 out of 5 by KitchenToyFan from Nice alternative to microwave bags My wife likes popcorn, but was wary of the chemicals, cost, and environmental impact of the microwaveable bags. We decided to try this as an alternative, and it works quite well. Her only complaint is that not all of the flaps stay down well, so during popping, a few kernels escape the container. But perhaps with use, they will become more flexible.Date published: 2015-11-03
