Rated 2 out of 5 by judee from Horrible whistle This tea kettle is cute but the whistle sounds like an air raid or tsunami warning...horrible!Date published: 2017-04-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Gingerquill from BUILT TO LAST I have the older classic model that was made in Western Germany. Love it! I've had NO problems whatsoever (and I've given 4 as gifts to family members and they have had no problems).Date published: 2016-11-21Rated 2 out of 5 by cmcl from Pretty, but didn't last Received this in blue in 2005 as a wedding present. The whistle was fine, and the outside was easy to clean...a hole recently rusted all the way through and it leaks. I expected this kettle to last forever. It's been rusty inside nearly ever since we started using it. Surprised and disappointed - only got 10ish yrs out of it.Date published: 2016-08-10Rated 5 out of 5 by lovetocookinindy from Still like new after 15 years I have had this tea kettle for over 15 years and it still looks and works as great as the day I got it. This kettle has sat out on my stove top every single day for the last 15 years and I use it several times a week. I only rarely need to de-scale it with vinegar and every few weeks I wipe down the outside with a stainless steel cleaner and it looks like new. The whistle is very loud- I can hear it when I am upstairs. I highly recommend this kettle- you won't be disappointed.Date published: 2015-12-15Rated 1 out of 5 by TonyC from Stops whistling after about 4 months I liked the size, and look of this in the store. I liked the sound of the whistle. However, the whistling mechanism is overly complicated, and the springs that work it are weak. IT STOPS WHISTLING AFTER ABOUT 4 - 6 MONTHS, and then it's pretty much useless. I'm surprised W-S would carry such a poorly crafted product.Date published: 2015-11-17Rated 5 out of 5 by cornelius from Just Awesome... I'm one of those people that review everything extensively before I make a purchase, even the little things. It can be a bit of a problem. Alas, this may be the first review I've ever written. I've had this brushed stainless kettle for over 12 years. It gets used multiple times every single day, has been stored in a leaking storage unit for a year, has not been maintained or cleaned all that much, and to say the least, has been slightly abused. I just cleaned it with vinegar as some scale formed on the inside bottom, first time I've done that since I've owned it and it wasn't even that bad. Anyhow, this thing still looks brand new, whistles, heats up, and pours just fine. I'm sure it'll be in the same, like new, condition many years from now. I'm in my early forties and this kettle will surely outlast me and look and perform great while doing so. Love this thing and at least to me, it has been worth every dime.Date published: 2015-01-28Rated 1 out of 5 by LordNelson from Looks and sounds great but poor quality Been through two of these. in both cases, the whistle becomes detached and falls out of the spout. The first time it happened was after 3 months. Williams-Sonoma replaced the tea kettle. The second one lasted a year.Date published: 2014-12-03Rated 5 out of 5 by ShelbyMS1 from Love, Love, Love I love this tea kettle! I had to write a review to say that the other reviews on this kettle are the exact opposite of my experience. This is a beautifully made, long lasting, fun harmonic sounding, whistling tea kettle that is one of a kind. I absolutely love mine and am purchasing them for gifts this year! I have never heard a whistle like this on any other tea kettle....it literally sounds like a harmonica and starts off soft then gets louder and is so fun! So I give it 5 stars cause it deserves 5 stars. You will love this tea kettle!Date published: 2014-11-29
