Rated 5 out of 5 by Betty33 from Cooks best friend. This is my third food processor. My daughter has my KitchenAid, which by today’s standard is ok. In the process of down sizing I felt a smaller one would be fine. I bought another unit from you and it was a dud. Your staff was great in trying to determine if it was operator error or equipment failure. In the end you exchanged that unit for the Breville 16 cup peel and dice. Results,... Fantactic. Down sizing does not have a place in this choice. I just hate they didn’t make this when my children were younger. I am amazed at the speed and the results. Never in my wildest dream did I think a food processor would peel veggies for me. I have only began to explore its talent. The dicing is great , dine perfectly and in seconds. You might have a hard time getting your hubby out of the kitchen as mine is fascinated by this food processor. Highly recommend this purchaseDate published: 2018-11-05Rated 2 out of 5 by Woodhick from Best for cooking for a crowd This machine is well engineered, even down to specific, labeled storage areas for components. However, it is very bulky, heavy and difficult to store if not being kept on a counter top all the time. I would use it more often if it weren't so awkward to remove from my kitchen cupboard. When cooking for a large group, its functions would be time savers. However, for a couple, it is too cumbersome for peeling one cucumber or just two potatoes. Prior to purchasing, I was impressed with the large size of the bowl and the fact that it can be cleaned in the dishwasher. However, a printed insert that was enclosed suggests NOT washing it in the dishwasher to preserve the surface of the bowl. With the multitude of crevices in the device and an enclosed brush for cleaning, it's still a royal pain to clean. I would only recommend this product for a cook who frequently serves large groups. For small group, day to day cooking , another product would be preferable.Date published: 2018-08-23Rated 1 out of 5 by TPatel from Not shredding properly and fast. I bought this last week to make cooking part easy but with this it save some time for cutting that is for sure but you have to be compromise in quality of cutting, shredding. shredding is not really proper shredding of cabbage or carrot. When I use large shredding disc then also it shred like crush everything except cucumber. so basically this unit is only for cucumber not for all veggies and fruits.Date published: 2018-06-11Rated 5 out of 5 by deb626 from So Quiet! Received 16 cup from my husband for Christmas last year and thought about returning it for the 12 cup but so glad I didn't. It has not only saved me time but probably a finger or two that I could have lost using a Mandolin! Quality machinery and highly recommended!Date published: 2018-02-13Rated 5 out of 5 by CBussey64 from Love this, so fast Bought this a few weeks ago and today was first chance I had to use it. It is lightning fast and does an awesome job using both large and small processor bowls. I cannot wait to start making other things using this. This machine is worth every single penny. YEs it takes space and is heavy but quality is phenomenal.Date published: 2018-01-21Rated 5 out of 5 by CHolmes from WOW! So far this food processor is AWESOME! I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to use it a lot of times, but the times I have used it I have been amazed. The peel function worked wonderful even with larger than recommended potatoes. The dice function was awesome for onions...can't wait to try other items. Making pie crust dough was a breeze in it... The first time I have ever had a great pie crust! So far, I would highly recommend this machine. I like how the lid locks better than the Cuisinart it replaced. It feels a little more heavy duty. The only negative I have found is how much room the accessory storage takes up. I guess I can't really complain about that though since it just means it has a good amount of accessory items.Date published: 2018-01-05Rated 5 out of 5 by DaveinCA from Awesome Food Processor The Breville Sous Chef was one of the top reviewed food processors out there, and now they've added peeling and dicing! I hate peeling potatoes and carrots, and now this machine does it in under 30 seconds. I used to have peelings all over my sink, now I just do a quick wipe out of the bowl. I'm not sure why one reviewer had trouble cleaning this. I didn't find it hard at all. It cuts really well, and I like the skinny french fries it makes. Don't listen to the naysayers, this machine is top notch.Date published: 2017-12-14Rated 2 out of 5 by NeighborNancy from Large and expensive disappointment I read all the glowing reviews and checked out the machine at my local store before I purchased. Pros: it is fast and may last a long time. The dicing kit, although tough to clean and a bit awkward (be careful, it is sharp), works GREAT! I am looking forward to the complementary dicing blades when they eventually arrive. There is very little waste in the machine itself after processing. Cons: I bought for french fries. DOES NOT WORK for that. They are curved. Hubby hates the shape, and I'm back to doing that by hand again. The machine is so large and heavy it must stay out on counter. I had to rearrange my entire kitchen for this. The two storage compartments (plus the complementary dicing blades out of stock until after Jan 2018) required me to rearrange an entire cabinet as well. Complex storage for dicing kit/hard to put back in original locations so that it will fit under the main blade storage properly. Want to just use the smaller bowl? You CAN'T use it without the larger one, and since the larger one also gets dirty, you have to wash both. Love the idea of being able to adjust the size of slices I make, but I need wider than is possible for the roasted vegetables I make. I have to cut longer vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, potatoes) to fit in the machine. Instead of the longer shape, I now have to trim by hand to make them fit. Peeler function wastes more than it is worth and I have to clean too much afterward to make it worth it. I make my own tahini (toasted sesame seeds and olive oil), but this machine makes it very grainy. In addition, since the blades don't sit flush to the bottom of the bowl, some seeds get stuck underneath and always remained unprocessed. There are many crevices and therefore places for the bowl and chute to get dirty. I definitely spend more time cleaning this than in any other food processor I've ever owned, and confess that I've come to dread having to use it because of the cleanup involved - and I use it about 5-6 times a week. I loved the idea of the storage bins and two sized bowls, but they are more trouble than they're worth. Overall, even though I was thrilled to be able to purchase this, it did not live up to the hype or my perhaps unrealistic expectations. I'm not the type to return things, and will make the most of it that I can. I hope this review helps other think long and hard about this expensive purchase.Date published: 2017-11-25
