Rated 5 out of 5 by alfalfa from Works great Bought this for a wedding anniversay gift. My wife has used up three prior food processors and says this one is the best she's ever had. Lots of power, and works very, very fast. Multiple attachments and bowl sizes handy for big family meals. Don't use in a dishwasher as the plastic will likely deteriorate in that environment.Date published: 2018-02-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Gabrielle R from Truly a Tiny Sous Chef I've had my eye on this for a while and my husband purchased it for me for Christmas. I've used it daily since and can't imagine how I got things done before! I feel that my Sous Chef does actually fulfill that role in my kitchen - shredding cheese, dicing onions, making dips... The list goes on. I'm currently working on a massive freezer prep and could have never accomplished such a task without my food processor on hand. It's saving me hours of time in getting veggies and such prepared, and has even allowed me to experiment with stocking away some more exciting foods, like pate, that I couldn't accomplish with the other appliances in my kitchen. My only complaint is that the Sous Chef is quite difficult to store in our tiny kitchen. However, I wouldn't trade the powerful motor and bevy of tools for the convenience of easy storage. I quickly burned through the motors of four "apartment sized" food processors before graduating to this one.Date published: 2018-01-09Rated 3 out of 5 by Kale1986 from Solid features, nice design but brittle plastic I love the accessories that this food processor comes with, it's much more versatile than the Cuisinart classic I had for 15 years. The design is gorgeous and the base is a nice Solid metal feel. My biggest concern and complaint is the plastic that is the 16cup bowl and the bowl lid is very brittle. Ive had mine for over a year, initially about 4 weeks into using it I noticed a hairline crack in the bottom of the plastic container base. It was pretty small and would only leak a few drops if blending something really liquidy. But after a year or so I noticed the plastic started to Creek when I would screw on the bowl, eventually the plastic lid developed a crack and then when I went to tighten it onto the bowl it cracked and a big chunk fell out. I cover the whole in the life with Saran wrap now to avoid splashes, but I am a little disappointed. I am going to order a new bowl and lid but i had my Cuisinart for over 15 years before the plastic got brittle and broke.Date published: 2018-01-08Rated 3 out of 5 by MartaH from My old cuisinart was better I bought this a year ago. Wanted to use it the way I used my cuisinart, which is to say, I used it for everything. It is ok, but it's definitely heavy, not great for dough, and expensive for the quality. I'm starting to feel Breville is making cheaper products that don't perform as well as they used to.Date published: 2017-12-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Sooz0526 from Great kitchen work horse!! Very pleased with this so far. It seems durable and high quality! Much better than our old Kitchenaid!Date published: 2017-11-12Rated 4 out of 5 by Satchmohammer from Little bowl doesn’t seal. Sends food all over. In general, I am extremely pleased with my Breville Sous-Chef food processor. It handles anything I ask it to, and is quite powerful. My only complaint is that, when I use the small bowl to chop or purée or anything, it ends up flying into the big bowl. It seems like it needs a gasket to seal off the small bowl from the large bowl. Does anyone else have this problem??Date published: 2017-10-05Rated 5 out of 5 by CulinaryCailliers from WOW This machine is like the Cadillac of food processors. It is expensive but it does soooo much and is so powerful it is worth the extra money.Date published: 2017-06-13Rated 5 out of 5 by killerbugz from I call it the Rolls When I asked my husband to replace our 30 year old Cuisinart for Christmas a couple years ago, I thought he would just go out and buy a KitchenAid or something. Well, he shocked me by presenting me with this Breville, and while I was appalled at the price he paid, I have to say I adore everything about this machine. It is easy to use, easy to clean, the adjustable slicing blade reduces the number of parts you have to store - it's awesome. Even better, though, is Breville customer service. I had a problem just after the warranty expired and they replaced the base for me with no question, backtalk, or cost - they even paid the shipping! So much better than another high end company's warranty on our coffee maker. That warranty experience definitely made me a Breville booster!Date published: 2017-01-24
