- Goat Cheese Toast with Honey Recipe
Preheat an oven or toaster oven to 375°F.
Arrange the toasts on a small rimmed baking sheet. Spread the toast slices evenly with the goat cheese and sprinkle with the walnuts, dividing them evenly. Drizzle 1/4 tsp. of the walnut oil over each toast. Bake until the walnuts are toasted and the cheese is warm, about 5 minutes.
Transfer the toasts to plates and season with salt and pepper. Drizzle each toast with honey, then sprinkle with the thyme leaves and serve immediately. Serves 2 to 4.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Alison from Love this oven! I bought this oven over a year ago and one for my parents for Christmas. I absolutely love this oven. I think if you set anything on the door, that could be problem with door. It happened to ours my husband fixed it. It is a design flaw but not huge deal, if you know how to fix. I can’t live w out this oven! I don’t use my regular at all.Date published: 2019-07-12Rated 1 out of 5 by HelenPB from Excellent oven, but door broke after 18 months We bought this oven in December 2017, and until a month ago it was great and even saved us when our regular oven didn’t work for six months. However, the door broke on June 9, meaning it wouldn’t close and was locked in an open position. We called Breville, and to their credit they offered to replace it, with all shipping expenses paid by them. We now have a brand new oven and will see how long this one lasts, but honestly, this shouldn’t have happened with a high-priced oven that was only a year and a half old, and which except for those six months, wasn’t heavily used. I see this is the fifth complaint of a broken door on this site in the last three months, so it would appear that there is some kind of design or manufacturing flaw, at least in ovens produced a few years ago (I have no idea if it’s been fixed in newer units). Ironically, the door finally closed just as we put it in the shipping box for Breville ;-).Date published: 2019-07-04Rated 1 out of 5 by Bren from Do not buy. Read the other reviews. We are on our third return of this product. This is their large Smart Oven Air BOV900BSS; Everything said in previous reviews has happened to us. Door problems and timer problems after a few months of use. Breville (you should call Breville directly) has incredible customer service so when we called them there was never a question of sending us a new unit with a prepaid return via FEDX. But, really, they need to fix this problem and stop sending us the same problem unit again and again. When I ask the service representative whether this problem has been fixed I get silence. Like I said nice people and prompt service. But I think they need to fix this problem. This unit has a lot of pros but one major con that wipes out all those pros unfortunately.Date published: 2019-06-29Rated 1 out of 5 by Marissa from TERRIBLE This is oven was fantastic, until it wasn't and broke 5 months later. Once the oven is pre-heated, the timer doesn't work any longer. Also, I have to keep an eye on it at all times as it just shuts down frequently. The biggest hassle was when I took it back (with receipt) to the Willias Sonoma Store that I purchased it at. They said I have to send it in to Breville! For the price, they should stand behind their products and not make it such a hassle for customers when the product does not perform. Now I have to find a package that will fit the beast, and pay to send it back to Breville. BIG HASSLE. Pros: GREAT AS AN OVEN-Cooks evenly, love the toasting feature, and bagel toasting feature. Great for finishing seared Fish and proofing bread, loved how the timer used to start once the preheating finished and shut off completely when done. CONS: It stopped working after five months. I don't think the Airfry function was as useful as a designated air-fryer (The Phillips Air Fryer is better for that function).Date published: 2019-06-15Rated 2 out of 5 by Katie from Great oven until it the door broke Bought this oven in October 2018. Now, in May 2019, the oven's door/hinge no longer works. The cook time feature works off and on if I can get the door to close. Prior to this, we used it daily for toasting, baking and warming since October and loved it. We did need to use our regular oven once during this time because this oven exceeded our expectations; however, how can it last less just about 6-7 months? Not acceptable for the price we paid.Date published: 2019-05-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Ron90069 from Great Features I bought this about two months ago. It replaces my toaster, my dehydrator, and my air fryer. I cook a lot, so I use the oven two or three times a day. I bake a lot of bread, so the proofing feature is wonderful. This is absolutely the best kitchen appliance I have that I have ever purchased. Compared to the other kitchen appliances I have purchased, it is extremely well-built. I can’t recommend this product enough.Date published: 2019-03-24Rated 2 out of 5 by PattiJR from Great Features but limited life! Over the past few years, we have purchased and repurchased a total 4 Breville ovens. Bought first one for us (empty nesters) and the second for my elderly mother. Mom has problems bending over and lifting things in and out of her regular oven. The breville was the perfect solution for her. She could cook and bake using the Breville. She was thrilled! After two years if regular use, the spring in the door “sprung” and she had to prop a weight on the outside of the door to hold it closed. Breville would repair the broken spring if we sent the oven back which was an expensive and costly proposition between packaging, shipping and repair costs. We had to pay shipping both ways. So, we bought her the newer version with the light which after 16 months has stopped working. Won’t turn off or on. Unusable. The door spring on first one we had for ourselves sprung six months after mom’s had done the same thing. We replaced it. Our second one is still working fine but we are only at 18 months. We are now expecting it to fail in the next six months based on our experience with the first three ovens. Important to note that mom and I both love the oven. Cooks great and we use all the functions. It is a rare day that either of us do not use our Breville ovens. But, for the price, I expect longer than a two year life and the ability to easily troubleshoot/replace basic parts without a lot of hassle. Trying to decide what to do now. Was thinking of replacing with the Wolf, which may increase the usable life of our ovens but also has more limited funtionality. As the prices climb, I am not willing to spend the money on another Breville with a limited usable life!Date published: 2019-03-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Paula15 from Awesome appliance I bought this 1 & 1/2 years ago & love it! I’ve used every function it has, Air frying is great, I fix “fried” potatoes this way, no mess, slow cooking function is great, dehydrator is great. All around best small appliance I have ever bought! Perfect for these empty nesters!!Date published: 2019-03-08
What are the internal dimensions of the oven? The internal dimensions of the Breville® BOV900BSS Smart Oven® Air, are approximately 13"(L) x 13"(W) x 7"(H). This is the usable interior space.Date published: 2019-07-19
I recently purchased the oven for my mother. She said there was no cookbook or any in depth info in regards to cooking, dehydrating or air frying. What do you suggest? It seems senseless to purchase an oven of this quality and to not have a cookbook. In order to accommodate all of the different recipes and combinations that we have found, so far, for the Smart Oven® Air with Convection, we chose not to house them in an already large instruction book. We are using the instruction book to show only the operation and troubleshooting of the oven. However, FoodThinkers.com is a website we are using to showcase the recipes that we have developed, been sent, or simply use as a basis for creative people to use as a starting off point for making their own Master Pieces.Date published: 2019-07-19
Can you do regular or microwave popcorn in this? No, this is a toaster oven more similar to a traditional home oven, it is not a microwave.Date published: 2019-04-29
My big oven has problems holding temp when baking cakes. Has anyone bakes cakes and did you have any problems? How many 8" or 9" cake pans can it hold?Hi rianeli, The oven would be able to bake (1) 8 or 9” cake pan at a time.Date published: 2019-07-19
I purchased this oven a week ago, and the instructions indicate that you have 6 inches clearance above the oven. If this is correct, how can it be ok to put the Breville cutting board directly on top of the oven? ThanksHi jabarra27, The cutting board has been specifically designed and safety certified to sit atop the Smart Oven safely (it has been UL certified). The patented feet design are heat resistant and the board has adequate clearance to allow air to flow underneath.Date published: 2019-03-02
