- Do not build in or enclose microwave in a cabinet or confined space.
- The outside surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth.
- Wipe internal walls with a damp cloth. If very dirty, a mild detergent can be used. Avoid the use of spray and other harsh cleaners.
- Do not allow the control panel to become wet. Clean with a soft, damp cloth.
- Wash the glass turntable as needed in warm soapy water, rinse in clean water and dry thoroughly.

- Pork Ribs with Scallion Rice Recipe
In a large bowl, toss the ribs with the sesame oil and salt. Transfer to a 4-quart microwavable container about 4 inches high and 9 inches wide; the ribs can be lightly stacked but do not compact them. Cover with 2 sheets of plastic wrap. Microwave at 100% power for 30 minutes
Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, water, hoisin sauce, honey, onion powder, garlic powder, Chinese five spice, ginger powder, vinegar and beet powder to make the char siu sauce; set aside.
After 30 minutes, remove the container with the ribs from the microwave. Lift off the plastic wrap from one corner, pulling it away from you to avoid releasing steam. Pour off the accumulated fat from the container. Pour the char siu sauce over the ribs and cover tightly with the plastic wrap. Microwave at 100% power for 10 minutes. Remove the container from the microwave and let the ribs rest, covered, for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, make the scallion rice: Place the green onions and oil in a mini food processor and pulse until a thick paste forms. Place the rice in a 1- to 2-quart container about 6 inches wide and stir in the green onion paste. Add the water and salt and cover tightly with plastic wrap. Microwave at 100% power for 5 minutes, then on 50% power for 5 minutes. Remove the container from the microwave and let the rice rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
Spoon the rice down the center of a platter and place the ribs on the rice. Spoon some of the sauce over and around the ribs so it drips down onto the rice. Garnish with the green portion of the green onions. Serve immediately. Serves 6.

The LCD display would not turn off and every time the door was closed the microwave would start running until the preset 30 second timer turned it off. Williams-Sonoma replaced the item but sadly, the second microwave is also going back. When the door was open on the second microwave, the light inside dimmed and the turntable kept turning. The microwave is beautiful and this is my first Breville purchase. It did it on a regular basis and became a fire hazard. I was able to exchange it for a new one which lasted exactly the warranty time of a year and broke down and now I need to purchase a new one. For the price one would expect a lot better quality. Very expensive for an inferior product. With all the other unsatisfied reviews I am surprised Williams Sonoma has continued to carry and sell this product. While it lasted, we were impressed with the design and functionality. However, after 18 months, it stopped working. It made very loud noise & stopped heating food. The timeline falls outside the warranty period of one year (which we didn't extend bc of quality implied by name and cost). When I contacted Breville to inform them of what I can only assume is a defective product, I was told that my only option is to pay $160 flat rate to have it serviced, though the replacement product would not be guaranteed. The cost to have it serviced is double what most competitors' microwaves rated even higher by consumer reports, etc cost brand new. I simply cannot justify sinking another $160 into a machine that doesn't hold its value. Will replace it with a brand better reputed for microwaves. Love this microwave and love the way it operates except for one MAJOR problem. The timer button is located on the shortcut panel which is only accessable when you open the door. This is incredibly inconvenient. Not only that, the cooking functions do not seem to work while the timer is counting down (or up), so basically, the oven becomes useless when using the timer. This is a major drawback. I still like the oven inspite of the timer issue. Admittedly, selecting the time and temperature by turning knobs instead of tapping buttons took a bit of getting used to, but it's not all that different from my Breville Smart Oven, which I love, and the microwave does have plenty of shortcut options available at the touch of a button. I really like the Sensor IQ feature, and the "A Bit More" button. I also like that I can melt chocolate or soften butter with the touch of a button. Bottom line, I find I don't miss the Inverter Technology of my prior brand at all, and I really thought I would. . This is a well built appliance that should last for a long time. The user interface is intuitive, and easy to navigate. Now the unit provided as a warranty is making the same moaning noise, this after we remodeled our kitchen specifically to put a shelf for this unit to fit.
