At Williams Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.

If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

  • Rated 1 out of 5 by from HUGE disappointment!!! The glass carafe easily breaks. Cannot get replacement through Williams-Sonoma (do not offer) or Breville (out of stock online). Breville customer service is useless. When I call, cannot get through to anyone to order replacement. Now I have a useless coffee machine and need to buy another one. Very disappointing as I only used for a couple months. Williams-Sonoma should re-consider it's partnership with Breville.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Customer Support Not Good Glass carafe breaks easily and it is not easy to obtain a replacement. Ultimately directed to Breville where their website indicated replacement carafe was "Out of Stock". Website did not provide any information on if or when replacement carafe would be available. I spent 42 minutes on hold on the phone waiting to speak to a representative who ultimately placed an order for one, but it will be about a month before they are in stock again. And to top it all off while searching for replacement carafes online (As directed by Williams Sonoma customer service) it became readily apparent I paid significantly more than other retailers charge for same coffee maker. I am not sure if I will do business with Williams Sonoma in the future based on this overall experience.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Think Twice I have had the machine for about five months now. You need to know that you have to descale the unit at least once per month. Besides the machine telling you to descale, you will know because your coffee will be lukewarm. The descaling packages are not cheap. Had I known how frequently I would have had to descale, I would not have bought this machine. Further, if you make less than 6 cups of coffee, the plate does not heat up enough to give you a piping hot brew. Otherwise, this is a good machine.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breville Quality I purchased the Breville BDC-400 Coffee Maker. I was impressed with the many features like adjustable water temp and blooming capabilities. Initially, I was so pleased that I subsequently bought Breville Microwave and a Breville Toaster. The coffee maker worked fine for a little over 3 months, then the heating element that keeps the coffee warm after brewing stopped working. I contacted the company, and since the unit was still under warranty, they agreed to replace it which I received within a week. The second unit failed within a week of receiving it with the exact same heating element problem. In addition to that issue, the brewing water temp was lukewarm at best, even though the temp was set to 206 degrees. In both cases both units worked fine out of the box. In the case of both units, I performed factory resets, power down resets, and custom settings resets multiple times to no avail. Why they would send a defective replacement unit is beyond me. The company offered to send me a third unit, but I had lost faith at that point. The odds of receiving 2 defective units that did not last beyond the warranty period are astronomically high. This company does not give refunds, only in-store credit for toward a Breville product , so unless I play the Breville Coffee Maker lottery, I am left with a useless coffee maker that requires using a microwave before I can drink a first or second cup of coffee…and I am out nearly $300. Had I known about this in advance, like you do now, I would have avoided this purchase.

Unless I received a defective unit, I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone who likes their coffee hot.

We have had a Breville toaster for over a decade and it performs flawlessly, so after buying a few other brewers, from Krups to Cuisenart we decided to try the Breville brand. We had a Krups Crystal Arome that we had for approx 15 years and loved, but it finally quit and we bought another Krups--disappointed the model we had wasn't available. The new model we purchased we didn't like as well and the burner quit in less than a year, we sent it to Krups for repair, costing us shipping, and in less than a year it quit again. So we tried a Cuisinart (I've liked my food processor) but it continually clogged and leaked onto the counter making a big mess. We've has this coffee brewer for just over 3 months now, and have found the performance to be excellent. The design is so much nicer than any we've had before. Easy to use and clean, the water tank is easy fill and see the water level...the grounds basket is easy to use, and we think the coffee we brew tastes better too! The actaul coffee carafe is beautiful, well balanced and pours without dripping. We usually buy a dark roast whole bean Starbucks coffee. We like the brewing options. A bonus is the clock and auto timer is very easy to set and use. I'm planning to order the pour over attachment to try as well. (We don't buy into the single cup type of brewers due to environmental concerns with the consumables). I am hoping this brewer lasts as long as my other Breville toaster. Will continue buying Breville products if this proves to be as quality and long lasting.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Preferred over the Thermal Carafe!! I originally registered for this same coffee maker except with the thermal carafe. I mistakenly assumed that every coffee maker had a function to keep the coffee warm after brewing. Unfortunately this was not the case with the thermal carafe. Williams-Sonoma customer service was fantastic and allowed me to exchange the thermal carafe coffee maker for the glass carafe. I could not be happier! This coffee maker is amazing. You can keep your coffee warm for hours after brewing it. There are a ton of settings so that you can brew quick, one cup, gold (which is the best), etc. Overall very happy with Williams-Sonoma's customer service, and this coffee maker.

    Why does this coffee maker not have a water filter?

    Does this coffee maker have true water measurements? In my current Breville model, 6 cups programmed does NOT equal 6 cups coffee- closer to 3/4.  I love Breville but want to make sure this model will not do that! Thanks!

    Will this allow me to only brew enough for a travel mug, or does it require the entire pot?

    Hi Chris, Yes, you can brew a single cup amount. There are settings to accommodate exactly this scenario, plus two different filters baskets for full pot vs. 40oz or less. You can even modify the temperature of the water, bloom time, water flow rate, etc. It does it all!
