Rated 5 out of 5 by Will from Great pizza demands practice and the patience To put it simply, this thing is a wood-fired brick oven for your counter top. If you have ever made pizza in a real wood-fired oven, you know it is a bit challenging and it takes practice to get it right. Here, timing is the most important, cooking pizza at 750° leaves little room for error. When the timer goes off (2.5 minutes) pull it out. After cooking about 4 pizzas with different dough, we noticed the dough makes a big in cooking time and finished results (which were delicious and perfect). The pizza oven comes with recipes (which we didn't follow) but looked delicious. Other than that, it's pretty easy to use! Nitty Gritty: It takes about ~15 minutes for the oven to initially heat up and needs another few minutes to reheat (back to 750°) after you cook each pizza. When you're finished cooking, a not too loud, not quiet fan needs to run for another ~15 minutes and cool the machine down before it can be powered off completely. It doesn't get smokey unless you burn your pizza of course, but we placed it on top of the range just in case. The pizza lift (metal spatula) is your best friend, make sure it's floured and the pizza can slide off smoothly on to the stone.Date published: 2019-01-09Rated 5 out of 5 by MikeM59 from Great and not so great My wife bought this for me a s a gift. It's great. Pizza comes out great! BUT Im on my 3rd use. I noticed the stone started to crack And after washing the pan that comes with it to bake pan pizza, the teflon had come off in spots. I'd expect better accessories for the price.Date published: 2019-01-04Rated 5 out of 5 by TNMountainKnitter from Never eating pizza out again! Amazing! My husband and I have been eyeing this oven since we make a lot of pizza at home. We picked it up today at our local Williams Sonoma and brought it home to try. We only tried New York style first with our regular dough we make. The results were outstanding! It kicked up the pizza over the top. My husband is dancing around the kitchen with a slice of pizza now and a big smile on his face. Worth every penny! I was concerned about the crust getting too dark but it is perfect.Date published: 2018-12-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Karen G from Remarkable results! This oven is pretty amazing. I find the wood-fired setting is the best as it cooks super fast and the crust is perfect, top and bottom. And the Breville customer service team is excellent. I have several of their products, and they never fail to impress me with the quality, performance and service.Date published: 2018-12-30Rated 5 out of 5 by AndrewH from OMG -It's freaking fantastic!! I am still in the process of learning all the different ways to cook different kinds of pizza. I have worked at perfecting my NY Style dough and sauce. With the Breville - BAM!!! I am in LOVE with Neapolitan. The "wood-fired" setting and such simple ingredients in the dough, sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil leaves yields an absolutely purist and delicious pizza. I have been converted. It's just hard to beat the flavor of a wonderfully charred crust. To be honest- Why do they have a frozen pizza setting? I mean really? I am on to pan pizza this weekend. We will see how that goes. Further to work with the customizable controls and see how that can improve upon a easy to use though not inexpensive oven. It is a great time to be making pizza!! There is so much to like about this product. The cons: Well the stone stays warm for quite awhile so cleaning it is always the following day (oh, big tears on that one).Date published: 2018-11-09Rated 5 out of 5 by LACC from Almost Magical I have had this pizza oven for a couple of weeks now and I really love it. I haven't cooked a failed pizza in it yet. The wood fire setting for the Neapolitan style pizza is wonderful. It is magical to watch a piece of humble dough covered in simple ingredients transform into something perfectly cooked in just two minutes. The oven is thoughtfully made, simple and intuitive while offering excellent and customizable results. Love this thing,- no regrets!Date published: 2018-11-05Rated 5 out of 5 by Pizzalee33 from Love this oven! I have been making pizza and cooking now for 33 years. I'm Executive Chef of Zoli's NY Pizza in Dallas, and was gifted a Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo. I have a live demonstration at Williams-Sonoma here in Dallas, November 3rd. After testing this oven, I am in awe. It cooked all of my test pizzas beautifully. Super crispy, perfect bake throughout the pizza in just 4 minutes. I would recommend this oven to anyone looking to make authentic pizza at home. I love everything about this oven. Bravo, Breville.Date published: 2018-11-02Rated 5 out of 5 by psoranno from Great crust! Neopolitan pizza at home at last! We just bought this pizza oven and made our first pizzas last night. The oven was easy to set up the first time using it. We made the pizza dough about an hour before cooking it (the neopolitan crust takes longer to proof, which is what we bought the oven for), so, the dough itself was nothing fancy, but we used the Neopolitan setting anyways. The crust that came out of the oven was, hands-down, the best that we have ever achieved at home in a hot, gas oven with a good pizza stone. I have never seen such beautiful charring and cooked pizza crust throughout the pizza. The fact that the pizza cooks in 3-4 minutes is another amazing bonus. We cannot buy anything close to Neopolitan pizza where we live, but we can now come much closer to making it at home (with Bufala mozarella, san marzano's, good olive oil, and basil sold at your nearby natural food store)! Yes, this is expensive, but it works great and I expect many fun pizza nights making and serving Neopolitan pizza (you can make other styles, but, why would you?).The interior of the oven is small and just took a little getting used to, but by the end of the night, it felt natural. It makes a roughly 10-11" pizza, which fits easily on the peel and in the oven. However, I don't view this as a problem as it is not easy to manipulate a pizza on a peel any bigger than that anyways, and I have not had much success making ones at home any bigger. Given how quickly they cook, it just means everyone cooks their own pizza, which works great anyways. I recommend watching videos about how to stretch a Neopolitan pizza dough ball. It helps to get a nice round pizza that fits. Using Semolina is key too! I wish we had this years ago. It will add greatly to our family weekly pizza night, and worth every penny.Date published: 2018-10-28
I am considering this oven and it appears some of the stones crack. In the 2 videos on the WS website it shows the pizzas going directly on the deck with no stone. When should a stone be used and when should the pizza go directly on the deck?Hi Handle, A stone should never be used. The pizza should always be placed directly on the deck with no stone.Date published: 2018-12-24
What is the recovery time between pizzas?Hi Carrie, The oven takes 20 minutes to heat up but there's not a wait time from pizza to pizza. As soon as you take one out, you can put another one in.Date published: 2018-12-17
How long does it take for oven to heat up ?Hi Meghan - It takes 20 minutes for the Pizzaiolo Oven to reach 750 degrees. Thanks!Date published: 2018-12-17
Can this take the place also as a countertop "Toaster Oven" or does it only go on very high temperatures such that heating other foods that one would use a toaster oven for, would not be a good idea? (trying save on counter space)Hi Dingo - This product is really designed for pizza making. The size and settings are all geared towards making the perfect pizza. Thanks!Date published: 2018-12-17
I know it is made for pizza, but can you cook anything else in here?Hi Meghan, This product is really designed for pizza making. The size and settings are all geared towards making the perfect pizza. Thanks!Date published: 2018-12-17
What are the dimensions of the inside of the oven? I would like to see what size of pan would fit inside. Thanks!
