Rated 2 out of 5 by Stelladoro from Simply put, not good. I read the other reviews before purchasing and decided that the negative reviews were really complaints about the amount of maintenance. Maintenance I can handle if it makes good coffee. However, this coffee system’s problem isn’t just maintenance; even with properly daily and weekly maintence, over time the coffee make still doesn’t function properly. Very disappointing. A good grind-and-brew is hard to find.Date published: 2018-10-17Rated 2 out of 5 by Robnyc from Great product - if you have live-in barista Wish I had read more reviews before buying as I’ll probably now echo many other complaints about how hard this machine is to maintain. Great when it works but I regularly haul out the vacuum (!!!) to clean the thing. My sense is the grinder motor is *way too weak because it’s regularly jamming up - and it’s worse with more oily beans. Given the price it’s just not worth it. We now use it by adding pre-ground coffee and forego dealing with the grinder.Date published: 2018-09-09Rated 1 out of 5 by Cuca from Failure to launch this product again !! Bought it lasted 18 months, followed the directions on cleaning and maintenanceDate published: 2018-09-09Rated 1 out of 5 by Utahjock from Too many parts to clean.... I've used this machine about six months. The product itself seems to be okay, so far. Here are my reasons for this review: 1- there are too many parts to clean everyday, they can't be rinsed as the instructions suggest, they must be removed and cleaned with soap and water; 2- the stainless disc is not removable and is hard to get to - but still needs cleaning everyday; 3- the opening in the carafe is too small for a brush, let alone a hand - it can only be rinsed out; 4- I have not found a way to change the coffee beans should I desire a different roast without taking out the burr grinder top and tipping the whole machine upside down; 5- you cannot enjoy fresh coffee with a machine that you set-up at night to brew in the morning because the water is old and the beans have been exposed. You may be wondering why I purchased this machine: I live with people who do not have patience to wait fifteen minutes for coffee press or percolator coffee. And believe, me both of these fine methods to brew coffee are the best yet.Date published: 2018-08-26Rated 2 out of 5 by Reader from Good Cup of Coffee...But... Was excited to buy, purchased over a year and a half ago, the grinder stopped working- took back to William Sonoma - was told I had it too long and they would not fix it, when it did work, the coffee was good ... Out nearly 300 dollars with an empty coffee cup to show ... really disappointed, as it came highly recommended...Date published: 2018-08-12Rated 2 out of 5 by Alie23 from Terrible performance and reliability We love our coffee, and for the first couple months having this machine it was FABULOUS! Then it all went south. The grinder works poorly, the water is measured inaccurately (put in for 10 cups and out comes 3) and it asks to be descaled every week using filtered water. If that were not annoying enough their customer service is the pits. Well, it is the pits if you don't like being on hold for 25 minutes.Date published: 2018-07-07Rated 1 out of 5 by Amber from Don’t buy! I bought this coffeemaker 14 months ago, and absolutely loved it. It brewed coffe beans and made coffee to perfection. However, last week I had the 001 error code come up. It stopped brewing immediately. We are 2 months out of warranty so I called the company today. They told me I could send it in for repair for $129. This is rediculois and unacceptable for a coffee maker that not only cost more than any other coffeemaker I’ve purchased, but is also only 14 months old. As much as I loved it while it worked, I will never purchase this product again.Date published: 2018-06-18Rated 1 out of 5 by Jennifer from Will not buy Breville coffee maker again. We owned a previous version (with glass carafe) of Breville coffee maker for 3 years. The steam from the brewing eventually caught up with me. I decided to replace it with this new version about 9 months ago because the coffee from my previous Breville was good. However, it has been such a pain and we sent it back for warranty repair about 2 months ago. Now it's not working again. I called Breville and was told I need to clean the grinder every week. The worst part is that when it clogs, it doesn't make coffee at all and it can stop at any stage of making. I am done with it.Date published: 2018-06-08
