Rated 5 out of 5 by Raiderbgirl from Awesome Bought this over a year ago and love it. Works great every timeDate published: 2017-12-10Rated 5 out of 5 by Bigdaddy from Works amazing Funny I have not reviewed my item, but after reading some of the reviews, I decided I should. First off don’t listen to anyone giving this machine less then 5 stars, maybe they received a defective one, but this cooker is nothing short of amazing and is not hard to use if you have at least a third grade education. Cooks perfect every time, great for rice soups, meats, I especially love the open braising/ cooking it allows you too do. My wife constantly thanks me for it, as it is her favorite cooking item.Date published: 2017-12-07Rated 1 out of 5 by Marculo from Don’t believe the hype When it works, the product is great. But it doesn’t work often and it's certainly not reliable. You may eat in half an hour, in three hours, or never, depending on the mood it’s in. While the product does have a few other faults, the real problem is the horribly engineered lid. You have four potential points of failure that need to be checked every time you close the lid: the aluminum nut underneath, the silicone seal, and two release valves on top. One tiny valve in particular needs to be aligned perfectly, pressing your eyeball up to the steam release, or it’s a no go. All of these are loose, unstructured, and jiggly. If the machine decides any one of these seals is inadequate, no food for you. Don’t imagine the machine simply tells you what’s wrong. Oh, no. First you wait half an hour or more for the pressure to come up, with the machine counterproductively venting pressure at random intervals. Then, when you think preheat it must be over by now, the machine vents all the pressure and tells you the lid isn’t sealed. Now you have to start over again. It may work this time, or it may not. You may eat soon, or hours from now. Of course the more times this happens, the more dry and over cooked your food becomes. Tonight I got an extra treat. I couldn’t get the lid to open. Oh, also, when you’re searing or reducing, the pot will randomly shut off and tell you either to open the lid, or that the lid is open, which obviously if you are sautéing you know the lid is open and don’t need a machine to tell you whether it is or not. Not reliable, sorry.Date published: 2017-11-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Samantha from Five Star for both the Product and for Breville I received this about 18 months ago at my Bridal Shower. I have since used it at least once a week. I had never used a pressure cooker before, but now I can't imagine cooking dinner on a weeknight without it! You are able to make such tasty dinners so quickly. Also, being able to sear onions and meat prior to slow cooking using just one pot is simply amazing. After about a year, it was getting very difficult to seal the pressure cooker. I would need to adjust and readjust the top and the valve. It also stopped releasing the pressure once the meal was finished cooking; I would have to move the valve manually (which release VERY hot steam!). I was a bit lazy and didn't call Breville about this problem until about a month ago - a few months past for their year warrantee. I spoke with the nicest women who had me try and check multiple reasons why I may have this problem, but everything checked. She ended up allowing me to send in my pot and she sent me a new one free of charge. It is not often that a large company does things without asking for any compensation - I am more than pleased with Breville's customer service!!Date published: 2017-09-21Rated 5 out of 5 by CharlotteNC from Must have kitchen appliance!! I purchased the Breville Fast Slow Pro Pressure Cooker several months ago. I am in love with this appliance. The features include a fast setting or a slow setting (like a slow cooker). I usually use the fast setting. It is simple to use. The appliance has a list of rice, vegetables, poultry, etc. No need to guess the setting here. Lets cook a whole chicken. Close the lid till it locks, click pressure cook, click poultry, it automatically starts and stops with a ring tone to let you know. The chicken falls off the bone in 20 minutes. Today its a rice day and Ill cook the rice in 5 minutes. It is quiet too! Breville products are top of the line. I highly recommend this pressure cooker to anyone. The instruction book gives you guidelines on items you are cooking, time it takes in the long and short version, and preparation instructions. I love my slow cooker also, but I love the pressure cooker quickness. You will not be disappointed!!Date published: 2017-09-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Ransom423 from Awesome! This is an amazingly convenient appliance! Love it. Used it to make chili, stews, rice dishes, etc. The Risotto function is amazing. Does everything in 6 minutes. The steaming function works great. And the sauté, reduce, and sear functions work phenomenal. Glad I purchased this awesome new toy :)Date published: 2017-07-03Rated 1 out of 5 by XMarlinX from Lid Does Not Lock This appliance sautees well, but the lid does not lock for pressure cooking. I and my adult son tried for 20 minutes to align and lock the lid. We failed. Could someone from Breville address this issue? Difficulty with th appear in videos and reviews throughout the net.Date published: 2017-06-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Shiloh from MY NEW BEST FRIEND I have had a very nice, very expensive stove-top pressure cooker, a Wiliams-Sonoma slow cooker, and a very expensive Zojirushi rice cooker, all of which were like the Mercedes Benz of their kind. But this pot.... I don't see how I lived without it! Unlike my other pressure-cooker, which I had to constantly monitor, and release steam from, which required my constant presence during the entire cooking procedure, with this pot, I can actually set it, and YES- walk away! And I LOVE how a slow-cooker can make meat so fall-off-the-bone tender, but not how I always end up with a useless thin sauce. Same goes for soups and stews that can end up too watery. This is a pot for even the most challenged cook. It's basically idiot-proof. You press a button to select a feature, like "Pressure Cook." Then you adjust the button for options like "rice" "meat," etc. Then you walk away...and come back to a wonderfully-cooked meal. If your dish is watery, simply press "Reduce" and the pot with heat up to reduce the liquid. For dishes that require browning or sauteeing, simply press "saute." No need to dirty another pan. I use this pot more than any other appliance in my kitchen now. Saves energy, too, and doesn't heat up the entire kitchen. Easy to clean. I just donated my $200 rice-cooker, my $300 pressure-cooker, and my $150 slow-cooker. I'm ecstatic about this pot!Date published: 2017-06-03
