Rated 5 out of 5 by Anna from Perfect, owned for 12 years We've had many of these for 12 years, since we first got married. I was just emptying the dishwasher and thought "these are amazing, I really should write a review." They are like the LBD of dishes; you can dress them up and down and they are perfect for any occasion. They are so sturdy and look brand new 12 years after purchasing. We've broken 1 in 12 years. Any other dishes that enter our lives seem cheap and flimsy. We have French and Japanese in our backgrounds and so we are very fond of blue and white :-)Date published: 2018-11-15Rated 5 out of 5 by NCshopper1005 from Exceeded expectations Love these dishes! Bright white w perfect blue. Pretty every day dishes. Happy with the traditional cup and shallow soup bowl - great for pasta / salads. Use the salad plates a lot - size is great for lunch / light dinners. No issues.Date published: 2018-06-05Rated 4 out of 5 by Maruska from Nice look and feel I bought this china and it is great for every day use, and yet it has an elegant look about it. Will see how it fares during every day use. One thing WS ought to change, the china is NOT made in France; it is made in Japan.Date published: 2017-06-10Rated 5 out of 5 by IdaRad from Apilco Dinnerware I have had this dinnerware for years and absolutely love it! Like the last reviewer, I don't mind the weight of it. If cold or hot foods are and issue as one of the previous reviewer mentioned.....I put my salad plates in the freezer a couple of hours to serving salads and put my soup bowls in a warm oven to heat up. I would do this with any brand, not just Apilco. This is a set I will keep forever.Date published: 2014-12-29Rated 5 out of 5 by GBGx2 from Beautiful China Unlike the other reviewer, we have used this for over a year. It is lovely, and is completely usable. The weight issue is a non starter..,completely irrelevant to the product. This is a classic set, you will not be disappointed!Date published: 2014-12-26Rated 2 out of 5 by Juddie from Beautiful, but heavy as rocks OK - if you're looking for a beautiful, durable and elegant set, this will satisfy. But, but, BUT - the pieces are extremely heavy. When you consider that a single teacup weighs in at half a pound (without the saucer), you know you're in for some serious weight-lifting at the breakfast table. The dinner plate is an unbelievable 2 lbs 1 oz. Don't drop this plate if you value your toes; it won't break, but they will. One final word: the soup bowls are extremely shallow - barely deeper than the sandwich plate. Good for cooling off hot soup fast, but for most people, maybe too fast. If the soup bowl is not sufficiently warmed in advance, you will have cold soup before you take your first spoonful. Ditto for the dinner plates. Overall, I think there are better options out there - sigh.Date published: 2012-12-27
