Rated 1 out of 5 by Jan Canada from Terrible... I have used this thermometer twice and it failed on the second use. The display reads Hi for temperature so I believe it's the probe that malfunctioned. The power button inconsistently works. I need to remove the batteries to turn it off. If I could give it a zero star rating I would.Date published: 2018-07-16Rated 1 out of 5 by champagne_shann from Stops working Bought it and it was great...for a few times. They exchanged it for me after the manufacturer wouldn't email me back. I got about 3 uses out of it and it stopped working. It's not the batteries and the connections and cord are fine. I agree with all the other reviews...complicated to set (how long do you hold the buttons and which buttons?) Wouldn't turn off. First unit would read the temperature as being over cooked...when I put it in a raw tri tip. Last unit I tried to use it for the 3rd time and display was fading out and wouldn't turn on.Date published: 2018-01-18Rated 1 out of 5 by Beerman0514 from Ridiculously unusable buttons It seems to me that one should be able to use a thermometer without needing to know the secret sequence of buttons. Press for 3 seconds? Press for 4 seconds? While Apple Inc can create an intuitive device without labeled buttons. Williams Sonoma has not yet figured this out yet.Date published: 2017-11-24Rated 1 out of 5 by Pattie from Bought on a Whim Didn't do my due diligence by looking at reviews before buying this thermometer. Only way to turn it off is to take the batteries out. The "Meat Doneness" mode doesn't work - can"t change the type of meat I'm cooking by holding the button that looks like a sun (per instructions). Would return it but I didn't save the box it came in.Date published: 2017-04-12Rated 2 out of 5 by Mobilo from No Way to Turn This OFF! Okay, I exaggerate...a little. I lucked into turning this thing off once. It isn't that I didn't follow directions, because I did. I held the little symbol to the left down for 4 seconds. It didn't turn off, it just went into a different mode. Argggh! It shouldn't be impossible to turn off an electronic device. I've to take the batteries out to turn this thing off a few times already. Frustration with this design and/or faulty instructions aside, the anticipation feature is fantastic. It works as advertised, but turning this off is turning me off.Date published: 2016-09-30
