Rated 5 out of 5 by Wicked Laur from A touch of elegance for the dinner table I was hesitant to by this set due to the negative reviews. I've had it for several months know and it looks just as good as it did when it came out of the box. My only regret is that Williams-Sonoma doesn't sell matching serving tools.Date published: 2018-03-02Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappinted in Minnesota from You'll Be Sorry! I bought this copper silverware (12 place settings, a small fortune!) for our new lake home. The flatware is gorgeous when you first unwrap it. I did not know it couldn't be placed in the dishwasher, and after one weekend of use, I took one set back to the store because it started to turn black-ish in some spots, and lost it's shine. The employees were extremely helpful, polished the few pieces I brought in as an example, and instructed me to hand wash it. It is not dishwasher safe. I bought their polish as well. Though we use this only about one weekend a month, it is already looking tarnished and spotted. I would not recommend this flatware. The cost is certainly above the average and even when using it sparingly like our family, it is never going to look new. It will always look 20 years old, so if that's the look you want, go for it (or buy mine!). I LOVE the looks of this flatware, but it is not something W&S should put their name on. I was also disappointed that the store never offered to replace it. Even when you wash and dry it by hand, the copper finish wears off from the slightest amount of use. The first picture shows the edges turning silver. The second picture is a new piece on the left, and a used piece on the right (washed by hand).Date published: 2017-04-17Rated 1 out of 5 by Tll0113 from Tarnish I bought for Thanksgiving dinner in 2016. The first set arrived tarnished with a green wet stain. I sent them back for an exchange. The exchange was a nightmare. Have yet to use again. Storing them in a new flatware chest was awkward as they didn't stack well. All in all, I would agree with the other reviewer, nice look but very impractical for the money.Date published: 2017-02-26Rated 1 out of 5 by Decal from Don't waste your money! I purchased 8 place settings of this flatware. It was not used every day. Despite hand-washing the pieces with a mild detergent, and hand-drying it, within a couple of months they began to pit and corrode. The copper coating wore off unevenly on pieces and sometimes flaked off, leaving sharp edges. What happened with this flatware was nothing like the "rich patina that develops over time" as the item description states. This flatware is absolutely beautiful to look at in the picture, but turned out to be a real disappointment.Date published: 2016-10-20
