- Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe
Feed a crowd with this flavor-packed lasagna, which cooks to bubbling perfection in a slow cooker. If you’re lucky, you’ll have leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day.
- 1 Tbs. olive oil
- 2 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 jars (each 24 oz.) tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 lb. whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 2 Tbs. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 18 ruffle-edged lasagna noodles (not no-boil noodles)
- 1 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese, grated
- 2 oz. Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, finely grated
- Thinly sliced fresh basil for garnish
In the stovetop-safe insert of slow cooker over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the sausage and cook, breaking up any large chunks with a wooden spoon, until the meat is browned, 10 to 12 minutes. Add the tomato sauce and water and bring to a simmer. Transfer the sauce to a large bowl.
In another bowl, stir together the ricotta, parsley, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom of the slow-cooker insert. Cover the sauce with a single layer of uncooked lasagna noodles (about 3), breaking the noodles as needed to fit. Spread about 1/3 cup of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Top with about 2 cups of the sauce, then sprinkle with about 1 cup of the mozzarella and 1/4 cup of the Parmigiano-Reggiano. Repeat the layering 4 more times, starting with the noodles.
Transfer the insert to the slow-cooker base, cover and cook on low according to the manufacturer’s instructions until the noodles are tender and cooked through, about 4 hours.
Position a rack in the center of an oven and preheat to broil.
Transfer the slow-cooker insert to the oven and broil until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, 6 to 8 minutes. Let the lasagna rest for 20 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil and serve immediately. Serves 12.

- Chicken Taco Salad
To prepare the chicken, in a large fry pan over medium heat, warm the oil until almost smoking. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the chicken, cumin, chili powder, cayenne, tomatoes, cilantro and oregano and stir to combine. Season with salt. Stir in the stock and cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed and the tomatoes are soft, 5 to 10 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings with salt. Set aside.
Line a baking sheet with paper towels. In a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat, pour in oil to a depth of 3 inches and heat to 360°F on a deep-frying thermometer. Using a tortilla basket according to the manufacturer's instructions, fry the tortillas 1 at a time until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
Place each fried tortilla on an individual plate. Top with lettuce, beans, chicken, cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, avocado and salsa, dividing equally. Pass additional salsa alongside. Serves 6.

Williams Sonoma The New Slow Cooker Cookbook
Rated 1 out of 5 by busycook from Insert is poor quality - bubbles up and peels This is a great concept, and I have liked using the pan to brown, and then popping it in to slow cook. The BIG problem is that, despite my being very careful to only use soft utensils, clean with a soft sponge etc, it started peeling within the first 4 or 5 times I used it. For the money, it should be better constructed.Date published: 2018-06-24Rated 1 out of 5 by Karen1963 from Insert peeling Used 6 months now the insert liner is peeling and bubbling worthlessDate published: 2018-06-23Rated 1 out of 5 by terrsti from 7 quart all clad slow cooker with Aluminum insert problem... I also have this 7 quart all clad slow cooker with Aluminum insert. I haven't used it a lot but now the issue is that the lights don't turn on to make it work. Not sure if it's the power cord or the heating element. Any suggestions?Date published: 2018-06-03Rated 2 out of 5 by Dennis from Inner pot needs replacing I only used silicone and wooden utensils and it didn't take many months before the coating started bubbling in one small section. Now other areas have lost their coating. I like the size and other than this flaw it is great. Please send me the information where I can buy a replacement insert, or let me know if this is still safe to use. If I don't hear from you I will assume you don't care. DennisDate published: 2018-05-26Rated 1 out of 5 by NDR from Worked 3 times I spent this extravagant amount of money, expecting All Clad quality. I have not had the chance to see if the insert bubbled or peeled, because after the third use it will not power on. At all. A total waste of money and apparently this company does not stand behind its electronics products. Don't waste your money.Date published: 2018-05-13Rated 1 out of 5 by Blplyrsmom from Mixed Review The actual machine works very well. It would be nice if it could be set for less than 4 hours, but you can always get around that. My main complaint is with the non-stick aluminum insert. I have never put mine in the dishwasher, always gently hand-washing without scouring. I also only used wooden or silicone utensils when cooking with it, and only used the Low and Warm settings. However, even with this care, the finish began to bubble and flake after only 2 or 3 uses. After I notified All-Clad, they replaced the original insert for me, but the new insert began bubbling and flaking again after only a few uses. If there were another type of insert without the non-stick coating available, perhaps stainless, I would purchase it gladly, since I love the size and working of this particular slow cooker. However, without a good liner, I can no longer use this due to safety reasons for my family. So, I guess if they don't make another type of liner, this will just be a poor investment headed for the garbage dump.Date published: 2018-04-29Rated 1 out of 5 by Harpinski from Worst kitchen purchase I've ever made I haven't had any of the blistering and bubbling problems other reviewers have had, but every time I use this thing I curse the money I spent on it. I like the insert; I can brown in it and it cleans up beautifully. But the features are terrible. The stainless steel lid was a big mistake. Should be clear, so you don't lose heat by lifting the lid. The buttons are so small I have to use a magnifying glass to set it. It can't be set to less than 4 hours, and the low setting is not nearly low enough and the high setting practically boils the food. A $20 Crockpot would do a better job.Date published: 2018-04-23Rated 1 out of 5 by Dissapointed from Not up to standards I've been cooking for many years and my kitchen is fully equipped with All-Clad products. The crockpot is a huge disappointment. My first programmable crockpot broke and thought it was just a fluke. I purchased the 7 qt. programmable crockpot and half way through the cooking process it broke. It also bubbled and flaked. I assure you I know enough not to use metal utensils. I have decided not to purchase any All-clad products from now on.Date published: 2018-03-27
