- Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe
Feed a crowd with this flavor-packed lasagna, which cooks to bubbling perfection in a slow cooker. If you’re lucky, you’ll have leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day.
- 1 Tbs. olive oil
- 2 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 jars (each 24 oz.) tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 lb. whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 2 Tbs. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 18 ruffle-edged lasagna noodles (not no-boil noodles)
- 1 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese, grated
- 2 oz. Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, finely grated
- Thinly sliced fresh basil for garnish
In the stovetop-safe insert of slow cooker over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the sausage and cook, breaking up any large chunks with a wooden spoon, until the meat is browned, 10 to 12 minutes. Add the tomato sauce and water and bring to a simmer. Transfer the sauce to a large bowl.
In another bowl, stir together the ricotta, parsley, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom of the slow-cooker insert. Cover the sauce with a single layer of uncooked lasagna noodles (about 3), breaking the noodles as needed to fit. Spread about 1/3 cup of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Top with about 2 cups of the sauce, then sprinkle with about 1 cup of the mozzarella and 1/4 cup of the Parmigiano-Reggiano. Repeat the layering 4 more times, starting with the noodles.
Transfer the insert to the slow-cooker base, cover and cook on low according to the manufacturer’s instructions until the noodles are tender and cooked through, about 4 hours.
Position a rack in the center of an oven and preheat to broil.
Transfer the slow-cooker insert to the oven and broil until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, 6 to 8 minutes. Let the lasagna rest for 20 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil and serve immediately. Serves 12.

- Chicken Taco Salad
To prepare the chicken, in a large fry pan over medium heat, warm the oil until almost smoking. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the chicken, cumin, chili powder, cayenne, tomatoes, cilantro and oregano and stir to combine. Season with salt. Stir in the stock and cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed and the tomatoes are soft, 5 to 10 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings with salt. Set aside.
Line a baking sheet with paper towels. In a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat, pour in oil to a depth of 3 inches and heat to 360°F on a deep-frying thermometer. Using a tortilla basket according to the manufacturer's instructions, fry the tortillas 1 at a time until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
Place each fried tortilla on an individual plate. Top with lettuce, beans, chicken, cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, avocado and salsa, dividing equally. Pass additional salsa alongside. Serves 6.

Williams Sonoma The New Slow Cooker Cookbook
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mssmccoy from It just stops cooking It’s such a beautiful appliance but after 3 years and approx 35 uses it just will just stop cooking after a short time. I can restart it and then it does the same thing. Most expensive slow cooker I’ve owned and the worst one also.Date published: 2019-06-25Rated 1 out of 5 by Jake1963 from expensive mistake I received this as a gift and for the little time it worked, I loved it! Unfortunately it died shortly after and was basically useless.Date published: 2019-06-14Rated 5 out of 5 by kimmiek from I absolutely LOVE this slow cooker! This slow cooker exceeds my expectations every time I use it! Clean up is a breeze...even if you leave it out overnight and clean it the next day! It works consistently, and everything from queso to pot roast comes out great. We've had this cooker for well over 5 years and use it often. Yes, the coating on the insert shows wear, but it's still usable and I'm going to see about just purchasing a new insert.Date published: 2019-02-12Rated 1 out of 5 by Petro from Disappointing I bought this Crock Pot approximately 3 years ago. I have loved it until recently particularly the fact the the insert can be used on the stovetop to brown meats. I have not had the issues with the insert surface bubbling up. However, the electronics no longer work. It has tripped my circuit breaker when I have attempted to use it and will not turn on when the circuit breaker has been reset. I paid too much money for only 3 years of occasional use.Date published: 2019-01-21Rated 1 out of 5 by crashdavis69 from Embarrassment for Williams-Sonoma Bought this slow cooker 5 years ago, used it quite a bit. Crockpot stopped working this week, electrical panel won't light up and the buttons would not respond. Also the aluminum insert was peeling badly. Overall I expect more from Williams Sonoma as other appliances (toaster, coffee pot, blender) we bought from them have lasted much longer.Date published: 2019-01-05Rated 1 out of 5 by Samantha from THE. WORST. DO NOT waste your money on this slow cooker!!!! I have barely used mine which I’ve had just over 2yrs. It quit heating on the warming and low functions. I emailed All Clad and due to it being over 24mo since purchase they will not do anything. I can send it to them for a fee and they will diagnose the issue and give me an estimate for repair. I chose to buy from them thinking I would get a high quality product as I have all of their pots and pans and love them. I will never purchase an electric from them again.Date published: 2019-01-05Rated 1 out of 5 by frenchwillow from Don’t purchase under any circumstance... I’m honestly shocked that Williams Sonoma continues to sell this product. Both WS and All-Clad should be embarrassed. I’ve now had two of these slow cookers over the last five years, with All Clad replacing the insert twice while still under warranty. It continues to bubble and peel -and with the last one I ONLY cooked on low power to try and ensure this wouldn’t happen. It’s clearly a defective product that WS keeps passing on to unsuspecting customers. Now my second cooker is peeling again and I’ll end up throwing this one away as well. This leaves me without a slow cooker despite spending over $600 on these two with WS. Do not purchase it -you would get better quality at a cheap big box retailer.Date published: 2018-12-22Rated 1 out of 5 by Not happy from Dead Used this crock pot 4 times. Display started blanking out intermittently then just stopped lighting up and workingDate published: 2018-12-13
I'm on my 2nd non-stick insert and it has also started to peel. The mechanics of the machine still work though. Can I use a ceramic insert instead with the same mechanical device? Hi SWinMD - Please contact the All Clad customer service team at 800-255-2523 for a replacement insert. We do not recommend mixing the ceramic and non-stick inserts as they were designed for the technical base that they are sold with.Date published: 2019-06-12
