- Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe
Feed a crowd with this flavor-packed lasagna, which cooks to bubbling perfection in a slow cooker. If you’re lucky, you’ll have leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day.
- 1 Tbs. olive oil
- 2 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 jars (each 24 oz.) tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 lb. whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 2 Tbs. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 18 ruffle-edged lasagna noodles (not no-boil noodles)
- 1 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese, grated
- 2 oz. Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, finely grated
- Thinly sliced fresh basil for garnish
In the stovetop-safe insert of slow cooker over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the sausage and cook, breaking up any large chunks with a wooden spoon, until the meat is browned, 10 to 12 minutes. Add the tomato sauce and water and bring to a simmer. Transfer the sauce to a large bowl.
In another bowl, stir together the ricotta, parsley, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom of the slow-cooker insert. Cover the sauce with a single layer of uncooked lasagna noodles (about 3), breaking the noodles as needed to fit. Spread about 1/3 cup of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Top with about 2 cups of the sauce, then sprinkle with about 1 cup of the mozzarella and 1/4 cup of the Parmigiano-Reggiano. Repeat the layering 4 more times, starting with the noodles.
Transfer the insert to the slow-cooker base, cover and cook on low according to the manufacturer’s instructions until the noodles are tender and cooked through, about 4 hours.
Position a rack in the center of an oven and preheat to broil.
Transfer the slow-cooker insert to the oven and broil until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, 6 to 8 minutes. Let the lasagna rest for 20 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil and serve immediately. Serves 12.

- Chicken Taco Salad
To prepare the chicken, in a large fry pan over medium heat, warm the oil until almost smoking. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the chicken, cumin, chili powder, cayenne, tomatoes, cilantro and oregano and stir to combine. Season with salt. Stir in the stock and cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed and the tomatoes are soft, 5 to 10 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings with salt. Set aside.
Line a baking sheet with paper towels. In a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat, pour in oil to a depth of 3 inches and heat to 360°F on a deep-frying thermometer. Using a tortilla basket according to the manufacturer's instructions, fry the tortillas 1 at a time until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
Place each fried tortilla on an individual plate. Top with lettuce, beans, chicken, cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, avocado and salsa, dividing equally. Pass additional salsa alongside. Serves 6.

Williams Sonoma The New Slow Cooker Cookbook
Rated 2 out of 5 by Vatsy from Great for the first year, thumbs down after that. I am on my second cooker. I am now having the same issue that I had with my first cooker. The low setting goes out so you either have warm or high. The reason I loved this cooker was because unlike cheaper ones, the low setting actually does run on a lower heat. I have a half doezen crock pots and the low setting is usually very hot. I loved this product for actually cooking at a lower heat. However, both cookers had the same issue of the lower heat going out after about one year, i will not buy this again. Product support was terrible.Date published: 2017-09-15Rated 2 out of 5 by Missy from Poor Quality Coating & Refusal by Company to Corre I had this AllClad cooker for three years and absolutely loved it. I made soups, Gumbo, pot roast, stews, barbecued ribs, lamb shanks and even a pineapple cake. However about six months ago the coating began bubbling and peeling. I called All Clad to ask about recoating it. Impossible, I was told. I asked if All Clad would replace it. "NO". I asked if I could buy a replacement. "NO. We have none that will fit." So here I am: no slow cooker thanks to All Clad, 81 years old living in a retirement community and my husband dying in the nursing home. My expenses exceed my income so needless to say I cannot purchase a new one. And given the rude way in which I was treated I will not buy an All Clad and I recommend William Sonoma stop selling them.Date published: 2017-08-27Rated 2 out of 5 by Debbie from I would not buy this product again I use my crock pot weekly, the insert is starting to warp and wear. it has bubbled and chipped. The lid is so warped from use that it doesn't sit right.Date published: 2017-08-18Rated 1 out of 5 by Patrick from Poor quality - non-stick coating peels off The non-stick coating on the aluminum insert bubbles and peels off and will end up in your food rendering the unit useless.Date published: 2017-08-12Rated 1 out of 5 by John from Do not buy! I purchased the All Clad slow cooker less than a year ago. I am now getting an F1 code on the display and it won't work at all. Also, the nonstick material on the insert is already delaminating from the insert metal. Horrible quality and reliability!Date published: 2017-08-04Rated 3 out of 5 by DZ from DEAR ALL CLAD, CHANGE THE MATERIALS FOR INSERT!!! MAJOR FLAW Dear All Clad, I am huge fan of almost everything you make. I own D5 collection, 2 slow cookers, 2 hand blenders, cooking utensils, knives, waffle maker, roasting pans!!! HUGE fan as you can clearly see!! Well... after using aluminum insert in my slowcooker I can easily tell you of MAJOR flaw. When you cook on high setting after a short of 6 month the inside of the insert scorches the non-stick finish/peels off/easy scratchable surface. I cooked trip tip on both slow and high settings and pulled pork, many soups later, i can tell you- PLEASE use high quality materials on the insert and this slower cooker will be priceless!!!!!! Overall, designed well- exception is the INSERT!!!!!Date published: 2017-07-26Rated 4 out of 5 by Oc Jujube from Loved it- I love this slow cooker - it's easy to use, clean and yes it's big so clean out a cabinet or pantry shelf. Mine died yesterday not sure if it's the heating element but the screen/timer is working so I hope I can get it fixed. I have had this over 4 years. It it's only warranted for 2 years. It's worth the purchase price but know it doesn't last forever.Date published: 2017-07-19Rated 5 out of 5 by kj4114 from Better than contemporary Crockpots being made I bought this slow cooker 1.5 years ago to replace my broken $30 Crockpot from Costco. My SIL bought this same All-Clad unit 6 years ago and it is still working beautifully, holding up like a work horse for her young family (6 kids). My CP slow cooker broke within a year, only cooking on High -- Low and Warm for weren't registering any longer. I absolutely love being able to use the insert to braise on the stove and then immediately transfer it to the slow cooker base without additional mess. The opaque can be a bit of a drawback if being able to peek through a glass cover is a feature important to you. Other than that, I have had no complaints - I use my unit at least 3-4 times a month, and haven't had any issues with the electrics or the insert flaking.Date published: 2017-07-14
