- Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe
Feed a crowd with this flavor-packed lasagna, which cooks to bubbling perfection in a slow cooker. If you’re lucky, you’ll have leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day.
- 1 Tbs. olive oil
- 2 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 jars (each 24 oz.) tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 lb. whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 2 Tbs. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 18 ruffle-edged lasagna noodles (not no-boil noodles)
- 1 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese, grated
- 2 oz. Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, finely grated
- Thinly sliced fresh basil for garnish
In the stovetop-safe insert of slow cooker over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the sausage and cook, breaking up any large chunks with a wooden spoon, until the meat is browned, 10 to 12 minutes. Add the tomato sauce and water and bring to a simmer. Transfer the sauce to a large bowl.
In another bowl, stir together the ricotta, parsley, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom of the slow-cooker insert. Cover the sauce with a single layer of uncooked lasagna noodles (about 3), breaking the noodles as needed to fit. Spread about 1/3 cup of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Top with about 2 cups of the sauce, then sprinkle with about 1 cup of the mozzarella and 1/4 cup of the Parmigiano-Reggiano. Repeat the layering 4 more times, starting with the noodles.
Transfer the insert to the slow-cooker base, cover and cook on low according to the manufacturer’s instructions until the noodles are tender and cooked through, about 4 hours.
Position a rack in the center of an oven and preheat to broil.
Transfer the slow-cooker insert to the oven and broil until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, 6 to 8 minutes. Let the lasagna rest for 20 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil and serve immediately. Serves 12.

- Chicken Taco Salad
To prepare the chicken, in a large fry pan over medium heat, warm the oil until almost smoking. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the chicken, cumin, chili powder, cayenne, tomatoes, cilantro and oregano and stir to combine. Season with salt. Stir in the stock and cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed and the tomatoes are soft, 5 to 10 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings with salt. Set aside.
Line a baking sheet with paper towels. In a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat, pour in oil to a depth of 3 inches and heat to 360°F on a deep-frying thermometer. Using a tortilla basket according to the manufacturer's instructions, fry the tortillas 1 at a time until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
Place each fried tortilla on an individual plate. Top with lettuce, beans, chicken, cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, avocado and salsa, dividing equally. Pass additional salsa alongside. Serves 6.

Williams Sonoma The New Slow Cooker Cookbook
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sharon from Do not buy this product! Bought this 8 years ago and only use it a few times a year. It stopped working the last time I used it. All-Clad's response was "it's out of warranty" and will do nothing. This is terrible customer service and obviously a company that can't stand behind its products because they are selling cheap quality at exorbitant prices. Buy the less expensive brand of slow cooker and have it for years (my mom's slow cooker has been going for 35 years!!!). Don't waste your money on this product or supporting this awful company.Date published: 2018-10-18Rated 1 out of 5 by Mary from Coating of the insert is peeling off! What a piece of junk! Coating of the insert is peeling off, can't use the cooker. I have used about 10 times for $250. that is $25. each time I used it....I could have gone out to dinner cheaper! don't waste your money!!Date published: 2018-10-17Rated 1 out of 5 by SLOW BURNING OVER MY SLOW COOKER from Prettiest looking worthless Cooker 10 uses and the Power On button no longer works. Best given as a gift to an evil stepmother.Date published: 2018-10-12Rated 1 out of 5 by Housewife from I would never buy this again Coating of the insert is peeling off, can't use the cookerDate published: 2018-10-07Rated 2 out of 5 by this_mama from Love All-Clad but not this piece I had problems with this slow cooker from the time I got it. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes if I left it plugged in a few days, it would magically come on. I should ha e returned it within my warranty period. For a piece this costly, I think the electrical components need to be more reliable and the warranty should be much longer than 2 years. I was hoping that the product had improved so I could replace it but it doesn't look like it. Hopefully, in the future it will be improved.Date published: 2018-10-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Jess from Gave me 10 good years I got this slow cooker almost a decade ago (it came with a ceramic insert back then; I bought the stove top insert separately when it came out). I've used it probably weekly since, often for long slow stock-making (12+ hours). It's been a trooper! I'm on here because it's finally succumbed to the abuse and not quite hold its temperature. I'm guessing with the other reviews, people got lemons.Date published: 2018-09-18Rated 1 out of 5 by Billy from TERRIBLE!!!! Terrible product. Will not heat up to temperature. Very surprised being that it is an all-clad product. I would steer as far away from this product. Terrible investment. Lets hope their warranty department stands by their product.Date published: 2018-09-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Tek from Love it. 7 years and going strong Well, I dunno what everyone else is all upset about... I've been using this slow cooker for more than 7 years and I love it. It does everything I want it to do and more. I love the removable insert that is perfect fro browning on a gas range and then putting into the slow cooker. The automatic warm function is awesome for parties where I can throw it all together in the morning, and it's ready to serve all night long, never have to touch it. Actually right now I'm using the warm function to dedrystalize some honey overnight. 5 stars from me. And no, this is not a paid or sposored review, I'm a normal guy.Date published: 2018-09-02
