Rated 5 out of 5 by DaveinNC from Would purchase this again Heats quickly and evenly, easy to make pasta and sauces, chili, etc. Cleans easily and Bar Keepers Friend keeps the inside looking like new.Date published: 2017-09-08Rated 3 out of 5 by Foodcoman from Sad and Happy both. The base of the pot has a slightly dented side. I couldn't tell if was due to shipping or if it was dented pre-packaging. The integrity looked fine, so I didn't hassle with replacement. I struggle with my decision at the this point not to get it swapped out.Date published: 2017-03-13Rated 5 out of 5 by michaelsgrant from Handy for the Pasta Lover Okay, if I could have gotten a pasta insert to fit my 8 quart All-Clad Copper Core stock pot, I would not have purchased this item. That being said, there are certain advantages to this pot over the 8 quart (only referring to making pasta here): *Smaller base takes up less room on stove. Valuable to me with small apartment stove top *taller narrower pot for insert means less water needed to fill bottom of pot below the insert. This is nice as it means less water to heat that is outside the insert *narrower insert seems to dribble a little less when removing then my 12 quart does I was worried that 7 quarts might not be enough for a pound of pasta, but it seems to work fine for that. That the insert means you don't have to dump the water, makes it nice for a quick reheat/refresh of pasta if someone wants a second helping and the pasta has started to cool or stick together.Date published: 2017-01-05Rated 1 out of 5 by HannaAngel from DEFECTIVE ... Two pots cracked ... See image below The first pot I bought cracked within one and a half months of use. Williams Sonoma replaced it promptly. The second one broke again within 30 days. Returned It for good. I really wanted to keep this pot. I've had all the other copper core pans / pots for years, love them, and never had any issues. A pot in this price point should NEVER crack. By the way, the crack began small and the more you use it, the larger the crack gets.Date published: 2014-12-17Rated 5 out of 5 by SeaJohn from Truly best pot ever - not just for pasta This replaces a 20 year old pasta pot. Shopping took three tries to get this right. First All Clad's 12 quart tripot. It was too big with too thin sides and the overall quality didn't speak of All Clad. Next I brought home a Demeyer Atlantis 8 quart pot with pasta strainer. The handles didn't accommodate my full size fingers; finish and quality was nice but just not aesthetically pleasing as I wanted. So finally I selected this 7.5 quart copper core pasta pentola. I'm cooking on gas so the copper wasn't a selling point. I chose this over the D5 because it’s curved lip has clean pouring. This pot is extremely well made with a beautiful shiny flawless finish. The sides are very thick so the pot takes a while to heat up (contrary to what the sales gal told me) but once the water’s boiling it retains the heat very well and the extra high sides on the strainer allow me to leave the lid on while the pasta cooks. All in all this is hands down the best pot I've ever owned or used.Date published: 2013-12-29
