All-Clad’s Copper Core cookware features bonded five-ply construction that combines the superior culinary performance of copper with the cleaning ease of stainless steel. This versatile 4-qt. pan combines the rounded sides of a French skillet with the height and wide surface area of a deep sauté pan. Ideal for preparing pasta sauces and then tossing in the pasta before serving, it's also perfect for cooking family-sized stir-fries and risottos and one-pan meals like stews, chilies and oven-baked casseroles.

For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

My first test was to put a thin layer of water on the bottom and put it on the burner to observe how it heated. My old saute pan had very clear areas where the heat wasn't evenly distributed. The All-Clad heated up uniformly (as evidenced by the bubbles that formed on the bottom of the pan as the water started to boil). Satisfied that it had even heat distribution I proceeded to cook dinner and the pan performed very well. The pan is very well constructed but not so heavy that you can't lift it up to shake the contents. The handle is easy to grip and tilt the pan if needed. I then proceeded to make a big batch of pasta sauce and again was very happy with how the pan performed. The only minor thing is that I wish the lid were slightly domed instead of flat so that it wouldn't come in contact with the contents when the pan is very full.Date published: 2018-12-05Rated 5 out of 5 by Virginia7 from Great pan! You can use this pan for anything. As with all clad copper core the responsiveness is great, it cooks like a dream and cleans up very easily. Unlike the 2/3-Qt saucier pans, it has higher sides which makes it a really nice all-in-one pan (Fry oil doesn't get all over the place). My first dish was a simple Pad Thai. I was able to lightly fry peanuts, stir fry chicken, vegetables, noodles, and then bring it together with the sauce. Too easy, and the wife was ecstatic with the result. Cleanup was simple...soak it in dish washing liquid for 10 minutes, remove the "blemishes" with bar keeper's friend and hand wash with dish washing liquid. Looks like new. I really like the pan. I saw this pan at one of their stores lurking on the shelf with all the other copper core pans. Something about it stood out from the rest. I think it was the way the rounded sides came up to a height above the sauté pans it was setting beside. Sure I have similar capacity pans that would work, had been working just fine. Along with a good shape there was good balance and feel matching its looks so I brought it home & gave it a try. "A try" is the operative phrase as now it's the first pan my wife grabs relegating me to the old pans. "Essentially" she said I needed to get one for her if I wanted to use mine. In that one use I found functionality really was good. Easy to flip items being sautéed & deep enough to cook down green leafy vegetables that start piled high & cook down to a more manageable level. What is the difference between the copper core 12 inch chefs pan and the cooper core essential pan? Hi Esha, The essential pan has straighter sides and is deeper with a flat lid, whereas the chef’s pan has more rounded wok-style sides with a domed lid.Date published: 2019-05-23
