Rum Swizzle

A popular drink in Bermuda, this rum swizzle cocktail is traditionally made using a “swizzle stick,” a branch from a tropical bush, to mix the ingredients together. In our rum swizzle recipe, we’ve modernized it by using a cocktail shaker instead. Search out a small-batch grenadine that is made from real pomegranate juice; inexpensive grenadine is usually mostly high-fructose corn syrup and food coloring.

Directions

Step 1. Combine Ingredients and Shake

In a cocktail shaker combine the rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and Angostura bitters. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until frothing for about 15 seconds.

Step 2. Serve!

Strain into a double old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Spoon the grenadine on top, garnish with the pineapple wedge and serve immediately. Makes 1 drink.
