Serve it in Sicilian Style
Entertaining outdoors requires good lighting – and you can never have enough candles. Look for hurricanes to place on the table, as well as along walkways or porches. Antique lanterns and votive candles sprinkled on the table add an extra glow.
Have extra wraps, shawls or throws on hand for guests to cozy up in as the sun sets.
When serving seafood, pass around a large bowl for discarded shells. Place small shellfish forks above the plate or to the left of the dinner fork to assist in eating clams or mussels.
Hand towels perfumed with lemon and herbs are always welcome after eating seafood. Steep fresh herbs in boiling water, then pour into a bowl with lemon slices and soak rolled napkins in the infusion. When cool enough to handle, wring them slightly and arrange on a tray.
