This homemade bread machine pizza dough recipe couldn't be easier to prepare. Just combine the ingredients in a bread machine and process as directed. The recipe makes enough dough for two 12-inch pizzas. Be sure to use fresh yeast (check the expiration date on the package); otherwise, the dough won't rise properly.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm water (105° to 115°F)
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbs. active dry yeast

Directions:

Step 1. Combine Water, Olive Oil, Salt, Flour and Yeast

In the bread pan of an electric bread machine, combine (in this order) the warm water, olive oil, salt, flour and yeast. Set the machine for Pizza Dough according to the manufacturer's instructions and process through the cycle.

Step 2. Punch Down the Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface. Punch down the dough and divide in half.

Step 3. Let the Dough Rise

Form each half into a ball and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 40 minutes.

Step 4. Roll Out the Dough

Roll out as directed in the pizza recipe. Makes two 12-inch rounds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recipe off? Not enough water I continue to use this recipe as my go to - however, now I now know to add about 1/2 - 2/3 cup more water than what it calls for. Otherwise, there is no pizza dough, only dry, flaky dough at the bottom of the bread maker 'pot'. There is an easy fix though if I forget the extra water - I just add the additional water to the 'pot', and run the dough cycle again. It comes out beautiful 2+ hours later - it just means we don't eat pizza until the NEXT night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dough Great dough and simple ingredients. Better than the frozen premade stuff from the grocery store. Easy to make. Toss everything into your bread machine and let it do all the work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good pizza dough I really love this recipe. Easy to make and tastes great. I make the full recipe and freeze one of the dough balls for future use. The dough freezes very well.
