Rated 5 out of 5 by sweetgigi from the best desert My husband & I loved these bowls, we use them on a regular basis, we have learn to use them in order to have a nice dessert. We used them with yogurt, Kefir, smoothies and tonight I will try one of their ice cream recipe with my grand daughter. I love and enjoy using them.Date published: 2016-11-07Rated 5 out of 5 by CSON from My favorite individual ice cream maker I received 2 of these as a birthday gift and was skeptical since I already own electronic ice cream maker. I love making fruit smoothies and always have blended smoothie mix ready in the fridge. I decided to try it out by mixing some 1/4 cup of simple syrup to 6 cups of pure blended smoothie mix and poured 3/4 of the way up in one of the bowls. You need to give some elbow grease into scraping the sides and folding it to the middle and then flipping it over and smoothing it out on top and waiting a minute several times to go from soupy to sorbet consistency. This was not a problem since I did it while watching a TV show. When I got the sorbet consistency, I mixed some cut mangos, strawberries, granola in and viola ... a healthy treat for one! It's easy to wash right away and put back in the freezer to make again the next day.Date published: 2016-06-15Rated 4 out of 5 by FelicityW from Healthier Option for Ice Cream I love ice cream. But only the really good, freshly-made, no-icky ingredients variety. I recently gained access to raw milk and cream and I knew that with this, I could eat ice cream that would still be Paleo. The only downside with this is the same thing that makes it work: it only makes 5ozs of ice cream at a time, and you can't make more until the bowl re-freezes (overnight recommended). It is also a bit tedious, but it is fine for doing while talking, while watching TV, to keep kids engaged. I originally bought one and am getting a second so someone else can have ice cream - I only hope I don't make twice as much and eat it myself!Date published: 2015-09-01Rated 4 out of 5 by ladymacb29 from Bought this on a whim... Bought it on a whim. I used to have an electric one (which broke and I couldn't find a replacement part), so I started using one of those balls you put the ice and salt in around the ice cream mix. But that was a pain to get frozen and hard to clean, so when I saw this in the store I bought one to give it a try. Well, we just 'raced' to see what worked better: The ball or the bowl. This bowl won, hands done. I was done with my portion before my husband and daughter even finished making theirs - and it still didn't get cold enough so it's sitting in the freezer now. The bowl took about 10 minutes of just scraping down the sides - really easy to do. It got to soft-serve consistency and was perfect for eating right out of the bowl. Although it can't go in the dishwasher, it's very easy to clean.Date published: 2015-06-07Rated 3 out of 5 by azul from Good to entertain a kid but not all that practical I didn't expect anything instant but this is VERY slow. Works but best left to a child you want to keep busy while making your other dishes. Make sure everything is really cold before beginning. I recommend chilling your serving dishes in advance as well. It's great for my grandson but I would hesitate to recommend it for anything more. Really more of a single serving.Date published: 2015-05-03Rated 3 out of 5 by TzuMom from Low Carb Soup I ordered two bowls so that we could make low-carb, sugar free ice cream, and our first batch came out ok; a little slushier than we like, but ok. Since then, each batch has been soupy in the middle, frozen solid on the sides. The instructions state that artificial sweeteners are not recommended, but you can''t know that unttil you purchase the device.. I guess we'll just make smaller batches in the ice cream maker..Date published: 2014-12-04Rated 5 out of 5 by LizLab from It works and it's fun! I was skeptical about this product, but bought it for our bay house where we have lots of kids staying with us. It works great and the vanilla ice cream from Williams-Sonoma is delicious! And I live in Texas where we are very loyal to our Blue Bell ice cream. Everyone, adults as well as kids, had fun making ice cream and then eating it. Great product!Date published: 2014-09-29Rated 5 out of 5 by ibdmom from Great yummy fun! I am following the low-carb lifestyle and have a yummy, sugar free ice cream recipe, but the only problem is that it doesn't freeze well. Turns into a brick. With these little Zoku Ice Cream Makers, I can keep the mix in the fridge and make just one serving at a time. It's fun, "instant gratification" and built-in portion control. I have used mine 4-5 times and it's worked out great every time. I would definitely buy again!Date published: 2014-08-27
