Combining German craftsmanship and traditional Japanese styling, this santoku is deftly proportioned for precision tasks like mincing and paper-thin slicing. The high-carbon-steel blade has shallow oval-shaped depressions to keep foods from adhering to it.

Use & Care

Use

  • Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
  • Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass.
  • It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.

Care

  • Hand-wash with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse and dry immediately.
  • Maintain the knife's cutting edge by regularly using a honing steel.
  • Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, your knife should not need sharpening more than once or twice a year.
  • Sharpen knife at home using a whetstone or knife sharpener, or have it sharpened by a professional.
  • Store knife in a safe place to protect its edge and prevent injury.

For an additional charge of $17.50 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. This service is not available for some oversize items, items shipped directly from the supplier (including perishable and custom-manufactured items), out-of-stock items and items to be shipped outside the contiguous 48 states.

Orders reciived by 9:00 p.m., Eastern time, Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday thorugh Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

Return Policy

At Williams-Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.

If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

To ensure top performance, bring your favorite knife into your local store and one of our cutlery experts will give it a fresh, new edge using our precision equipment. The first knife is free; each additional knife is just $5.

The engraving adds a very nice touch. I have used 4 star Henckel knives for nearly 30 years and thought they were the best. I still like them but, I love this knife! It is now my go-to when cooking. Super sharp and very comfortable(I did a lot of chopping during the holidays)!

My wife uses hers everyday. We roast a lot of vegetables. the job is really easier with this Wusthof Santoku.

W-S store intending to buy a Shun paring knife based upon the customer reviews. Instead, the salesman listened to me about my cooking habits and after holding several knives I went home with this Wustof Classic Ikon 5" Santoku knife. It's comfortable and sharp. An easy knife to reach for when making a salad at 6 a.m. before heading out to work.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from This 7" Hollow-Edge Santoku is now my favorite I bought this to replace my 8" chef's knife. This Santoku knife fits my hand perfectly. It's extremely sharp and well-balanced. I've always been a little afraid of cutting my hand while dicing vegetables but this knife fit's my hand so well and is sharp enough so I don't have to use too much pressure to slice through anything be it vegetable, fruit, or meet.

It was in a "block set" and I had never used a Santoku before; so it lived in the block unnoticed for several years. One Saturday I decided to play the "get to know your knives" game, and never got passed this knife. My "past favorite" veg. slicing knife was a 14 CM Chef, but due to the "rocking chair" curve of the blade, you had to go through a full motion in order to cut through that last green onion on the near side of your gathered bunch. This resulted in a very exaggerated arc of the knife heel. The Santoku has a straiter cutting edge that allows to cut all the way across the bunch of onions with very little movement of the heel and you still have enough blade width to rest your knuckles against. Love it!
