Rated 4 out of 5 by BruceC76 from Wusthof Knife Block Our old knife block was vertical, which was awkward for my wife when pulling out longer knives. I wanted one w/ a slanted angle. I bought this particular model b/c it is available in cherry. Our new K cabinets are cordovan-stained maple and the cherry looked like a close match. The block itself is great, but I gave it 4 stars vs. 5 b/c it doesn't have the reddish tones shown in the pic for cherry. Had I known it wouldn't, I would have bought a different model.Date published: 2016-02-07Rated 5 out of 5 by WindyMS from Definitely worth the money I love this knife block! It is the perfect addition to my kitchen countertop and frees up ever so much space in the utensil drawer, not to mention the protection it gives my good knives. Only thing that could be better is bigger space for my cleaver, which I like to keep at the ready. I would absolutely, without hesitation, recommend this to anyone.Date published: 2015-04-30Rated 4 out of 5 by Matchstick from Good sturdy product I'm happy with the knife block that I got, just wish I had ordered a larger one to accomodate all my knives, shears, etc. The last one I had lasted me forever, a kitchen helper placed it in a dishwasher, not recommended!Date published: 2015-04-17Rated 1 out of 5 by VIKINGREF from Nice but holds too many narrow knives. We got the black. Nice wood and looks. But the let down is - it doesnt hold enough working knives that one or a couple needs for their kitchen prep work. We are not willing to go for the 22" slot block. We tried the 22 slot and were just convinced that we dont want that buldozer look on kitchen countertop. No, defintely no. If the middle slot of the 17 Slot block was made sort of wider instead of wasting the space between the two small slots, it might have worked. We got another brand that is less focused on marketing their steak knives through their knife blocks. An oriental brand that has a good focus on a kitchen knife block for the kitchen so we dont end up with a bulky-huge-knife block on the countertop that our guests cant miss.Date published: 2015-03-12Rated 1 out of 5 by tcriggs from Not the real wood Based on others' reviews, I thought I'd get cherry wood when ordering. Wrong. The block is made of some tan wood and stained kind of cherry, but not as red as real cherry wood. The stain does not even penetrate the knife slots, which show tan. I did not receive a product anything like the photo.Date published: 2013-12-18Rated 5 out of 5 by ishani from Beautiful and useful! Love this useful knife block in acacia wood - beautiful whorls of burled wood and many slots for a variety of knives. Wish I had bought it years ago!Date published: 2013-06-27Rated 5 out of 5 by Mark345 from Quality Item This is a great item to have in your kitchen. It will store and protect your knives very well. Plus it will go good with wooden cabinets. It fits all kinds of knives instead of the cleaver. The only thing that is different is the color. It is darker than the picture they put up. Overall it is a great knife block.Date published: 2012-07-15Rated 1 out of 5 by TB94102 from MADE IN CHINA This website states this block is made in Germany. It is not. It's made in China. The outer box even says "Made in Germany", but a sticker on the block itself says "Made in China". The block has been steeped in stain, so it looks like dark walnut. The smell is very strong. I can't imagine putting knives in this, since the inside slots have a coating of stain. Really unhappy with this purchase. Returned it and the salesclerk was shocked by the odor as well.Date published: 2012-01-19
