Rated 2 out of 5 by SMWS from Fast Deterioration I purchased this whisk, along with several other cook tools in this collection, about 10 months ago. The silicone is already splitting and peeling away. The same has happened to the silicone coated tongs from this collection. It is great to use, just very overpriced for a 10 month lifespan.Date published: 2015-03-17Rated 2 out of 5 by KayLeo from Get the stainless steel version instead! This looks great and feels great in your hand, just like the rest of the Williams-Sonoma cooking tools, but this particular piece is not worth buying. There is no real reason why you should get a balloon whisk that is nonstick safe. Balloon whisks are generally used for aerating creams and egg whites, mixing soft batters, and mixing/sifting dry ingredients. All of these things are done in mixing/prep bowls, not nonstick cooking surfaces! Unless you're like me and is OCD about having to own every single piece in a set, do not get the Williams-Sonoma Silicone Balloon Whisk. Get the Stainless steel version instead! That one even has an improved design on the tines to maximize aeration.Date published: 2014-06-04
