Rated 1 out of 5 by Consumer37 from Disappointed This product was a great disappointment. Blades are dull and hard to cut an apple. Disappointed as the store employee highly recommended it. Waste of money.Date published: 2017-01-04Rated 1 out of 5 by AngelicaZerimar from Poorly made DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I was really excited to get t his- because I thought of this invention in my mind. It was exactly what I wanted for my kids snack. The first one was manufactured wrong so I had to exchange it, the second one broke because it handle the apples. It broke within a month of me buying- the extra piece to make the apples cut into smaller pieces broke off both times.its not made well at all.Date published: 2016-04-29Rated 5 out of 5 by J1111 from Great tool! I was planning to make my first apple pie and wasn't looking forward to cutting up 7 apples. I came across this item and decided to give it a try. It does take a bit of strength to get the slicing going. I had to push down really hard to get the slicer set into the apple and then to slice it up. I think because I'm a bit short and the kitchen counter is a bit higher, I could have gotten more leverage by using a short stepstool. Once you slice the apple, it wasn't clear to me (as I'm not super mechanically oriented) how to finish the slicing because the slices are still connected to the apple. My friend showed me that I have to use the bottom piece under the apple to finish the slicing and then the core and slices fell away easily! I like that you can choose between 8 and 16 slices. I saw that the other reviewer said it was difficult to move the switch, but that wasn't the case with mine.Date published: 2016-03-30Rated 1 out of 5 by gailkm from Extremely difficult to use, being returned. I could not change the slicer from 8 to 16 slices, my husband had difficulty too but finally shifted it. I had to rock the slicer back and forth while pushing down on the apple. I could not do it with the usual downward motion used for an apple slicer. Once the apple was sliced, I could not get it out of the slicer/corer. I had to break off each piece of apple and the core and then deal with getting the remainder out from each blade.. So disappointed in this Williams-Sonoma product. It is being returned immediately. Customer service was very helpful with the return!Date published: 2016-01-30Rated 1 out of 5 by gspress from Poor slicer - falls apart while cutting Because this slicer is adjustable - it is not durable and falls apart. I will be returning this after trying to use it once.Date published: 2015-11-04
