Rated 5 out of 5 by LionInWinter from A Wine Gadget For The Ages I bought this winged corkscrew opener to replace my old one which broke some time ago. The difference between the old and the new is that the new has the Williams-Sonoma branding, has a certain heaviness, and has a more durable construction. I have used it several times now since I have purchased it and it works with an almost effortless ease every time. I look forward to purchasing my next wine gadget from Williams-Sonoma in the not-so-distant future.Date published: 2016-12-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Georgianne from Love this. I was going back to buy one of these for my mother-in-law when I saw this had some bad reviews so I just had to review this. I received one as a wedding gift and it has been wonderful. Never broke a cork and easy to use. It seems well made and heavy duty though not cumbersome or hard to hold at all. I think this is the perfect corkscrew. I think the poor reviews mistakenly reviewed the wrong product or something. This one is great!Date published: 2016-12-01Rated 2 out of 5 by greythound from flimsy, light weigt Purchased a heavy duty winged corkscrew years ago from WS and loved it. This one looks good but is lighter and kind of flimsy. Don't think it was lasst 1/2 as long as the old one.Date published: 2015-08-25Rated 1 out of 5 by Ser253 from Go with a waiter's corkscrew instead I use a waiter's corkscrew but my fiancé likes the winged corkscrews better so I put one on our registry. This one is so heavy and it broke two corks. I will definitely be returning it and teaching him how to use the waiter's corkscrew (which are recommended by wine/food industry professionals).Date published: 2014-09-10Rated 5 out of 5 by GlenJWC from Easy to Use I was looking for a good metal wine opener. I found it. In fact it is so well made and easy to use, I purchased Three of them. I gave one of my five sisters one for her birthday. When the others say it and tried it, they wanted one also. It has a good feel and removes the cork in one piece; even from older bottles with dry corks.Date published: 2014-06-07
