Vine Floral Boutis Place Mats, Set of 4
A delicate, intricately stitched flowering vine winds across our reversible place mats, which are quilted in the French style of boutis, an artistic form of needlework dating back several centuries. The overall floral design is sewn onto easy-care solid cotton. Machine-wash. 20" x 14". Made in India. Set of four. A Williams Sonoma exclusive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cookaround from Great product but now with 3 pesky tags I just ordered 15 of these to replace older ones with ragged edges from washing in hot water. They are still excellent quality but now have 3 tags to cut off instead of 2. Along with washing instructions and "Made in India" tags there is a Williams Sonoma label that is impossible to remove. I ruined two place mats trying to get off all the black from the W-S label. Does anyone at W-S monitor product reviews? This is the opposite of what we are asking for. These will be my last place mats of this kind--the third tag is just too much.Date published: 2016-01-09Rated 4 out of 5 by HollowRoad from Placemats will last for years - pesky tags Great size. Pretty color. Nice material. In total agreement with others regarding the existence of the 3 tags. I was prepared with scissors and tackled their removal immediately. Seems so silly, tags being sewn in, tags being cut off. Would have been a 5 star product, alas the tags.Date published: 2015-07-16Rated 4 out of 5 by Mabmbam from Qualification: Nice Placements but Oh The Tags! These are good looking placemats, fabric and design-wise, and a good size that could allow for possible shrinkage (if any). But what is logic for having not 1, or 2, but 3 different fabric tags sewn/locked into the hem of each placemat, that cannot easily be removed, if at all without damaging the fabric. In other words, these placemats cannot be reversed even though the fabric on the 2nd side is the same, and would allow use were it not for the tags, 2 of which are obtrusive in size & style. I may return these if I cannot remove at least the 2 larger tags.Date published: 2015-06-26Rated 5 out of 5 by DianeSL from Great placemats Very happy with my purchase, I chose the gray. I am very happy with the size, I have a good dining room table and I like a larger placemat to protect the wood. They also seem thicker than most placemats, perfect for me!Date published: 2015-06-16Rated 2 out of 5 by ChefDeJour from EXTREMELY LARGE These placemats are VERY large, seems a bit too large for our table setting. Returned.Date published: 2015-02-17Rated 5 out of 5 by RainbowGirl from Beautiful Place Mats I have ordered three sets of these. They are beautiful and the deep yellow color is so bright and cheery. I am using them as mats for my furniture in various rooms of my house. They are well made and the quilting is perfect. I highly recommend them.Date published: 2015-02-04Rated 4 out of 5 by Sunnymorning from The Only Placemats I Will Use, BUT... I love these placemats for their wash & dry durability and lack of need for ironing. They are the only placemats I have used for years! I wish there could be more colors available regularly. It is hard to wait years for colors to change to match my décor. I have smaller green ones from 7 or 8 years ago with a different quilting pattern. They have been washed dozens of times and show no wear, though they are a bit faded from the sun. I bought the yellowish ones a couple of months ago. The new tags are so big that a guest remarked, "Too bad about the tag!" I don't mind the high price for such high quality placemats, but PLEASE get rid of the tags! One reviewer wrote that they got them in 2013 WITHOUT the sewn-in tags... what happened? IF W-S thinks they are advertising effectively with the tags, please rethink the strategy. It makes people NOT want to buy them, when they see the giant tags at other peoples' houses.Date published: 2014-12-04Rated 5 out of 5 by rdnatx from Excellent quality place mats These place mats are beautiful. They wash and dry extremely well - very little shrinkage and no wrinkles. High quality. The only complaint is the difficulty in removing the tag for those of us who don't like them. It can be carefully cut short or will require sewing to remove fully.Date published: 2014-07-26
